Today I had the pleasure of doing makeup for my lovely client, Leilani, who was having professional photos taken for her work website. 🤍

I often get asked, “Do you do makeup for work photo shoots?” — and YES, I absolutely do! I do this very often for women having photos taken for their social media, personal websites, business websites, work profiles, and even passport and driver licence photos.

Leilani wanted to keep her makeup soft, fresh and natural, so I chose beautiful, soft earthy tones to complement her features.

But here’s the thing about makeup for photography… 📸

The camera doesn’t naturally capture the dimension that we see with our eyes. Photos and videos are two-dimensional, so highlighting and contouring are really important to bring back that beautiful 3D effect.

By strategically adding light and shadow, we can enhance and define the natural contours of the face, so everything translates beautifully on camera — without making you look overly made up in person.

And that’s exactly what we wanted for Leilani: soft, natural and fresh, with just a little touch of glamour. ✨

Hey my loves! 💕 I know… I know… I’ve been a little bit MIA lately! 😂 So I thought I’d finally come out of hiding and say HELLO! 👋🏼

And while I’m here, I HAVE to show you this hair! Because seriously… WHAT?! 😍

I washed it Thursday night, curled it Friday morning for the event I went to, and since then I have done absolutely NOTHING except brush it! 😂

Six days, girls… SIX DAYS! And look at it! 🙌🏼

This is exactly why I love hair extensions. They make life SO much easier! You can do your hair once and then basically just keep living your best life. 😂

And honestly, I can’t thank the gorgeous team at Mooi Hair enough for always looking after my hair and making me feel like an extra glamorous version of myself. ❤️

Anyway, I just wanted to pop on and say a big HELLO because I’ve missed you guys! 🥰

Last night we went to the CR Annual Awards Night and was a fun night! ✨🥂

My hubby won an award, which made the night extra special! 🏆❤️
It was great excuse to get dressed up, feel glamorous and have a fabulous night out.

And honestly… what would I do without my hair extensions?! 😍 Huge thank you to Mooi Hair for always keeping my extensions looking amazing and making me feel extra glamorous! 💁‍♀️✨

We had heaps of fun playing blackjack and roulette at the casino-themed night 🎰🃏 and I may have had slightly too many pineapple daiquiris 🍍🍹😂

Now, as I lie in bed with a headache, I’m seriously debating whether those last few daiquiris were a good life decision… 🤦‍♀️😂

But overall, it was such a fantastic night! Great company, lots of laughs, a little bit of gambling, little bit of dancing…. definitely a great way to spend a Friday night ❤️✨

✨ MEN’S EYEBROWS — YES, THEY MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE! ✨

When it comes to men’s eyebrows, you don’t need to completely reshape them or make them look “done.” In fact, the goal is quite the opposite!

With threading and a few strategic tweaks, you can take bushy, unruly brows and make them look tidy, balanced and masculine, while still keeping them completely natural.

One of the biggest concerns I hear from men is: “I don’t want my eyebrows to look feminine or overdone.” And I completely understand that!

Men’s brows need a different approach. The goal is to work with their natural shape, clean up what needs cleaning, tame the unruly hairs and create the right expression around the eyes — without taking away that masculine appearance.

I’ve seen so many men who have over-plucked underneath their brows, thinking that removing more hair is the answer. But with men’s eyebrows, less is often more! Removing too much underneath can completely change the shape and make the brows look unnatural.

And this isn’t just something to think about as you get older. Young men can benefit from professional brow grooming too — just like my 19-year-old client here. 🙌

As men get older, eyebrow hairs can also become longer, thicker and more unruly, which can actually make the face look older and more tired. A little professional grooming can make such a difference!

There’s something so relaxing about walking along the lake, breathing in the fresh air, taking in the views, and having a good chat with my girlie. 🩷

Definitely the best way to slow down, unwind, and chill for a few days. 🌿🦆☀️
