Exposure to UV light causes sunscreens to generate something called transient free radicals,(TFR’s), but this study has revealed they can also produce long-lived free radicals, which have much more concerning long-term impacts on the human body.

We know that many people won’t understand what long lived free radicals are, or what the real damage is that they cause. This is simplified explanation:

Long-lived free radicals (LLFR’s) are
highly stable, reactive molecules that cause oxidative stress and damage.

What is oxidative stress and damage?

It is an imbalance where harmful free radicals overwhelm the body's natural antioxidants, leading to cellular damage of lipids (fats) , proteins, and DNA. This in turn contributes to aging and diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders. The imbalance damages cellular components, impairs cell function and can in turn lead to potential cell death, of tissues and organs.
