Well… this is one of the realities of living rurally! 🌧️🌊
The ford is flooded, which means I’m officially stranded and can’t get to the clinic today. Unfortunately, all appointments for today will need to be cancelled.
I’ll be in touch with everyone affected to reschedule as soon as I can.
Thanks for your understanding, and if you’re out and about today, please stay safe! 💙

A little glimpse into my life outside the clinic…
I’ve noticed my camera roll looking a bit more agricultural lately, that’s because it’s bull buying season. Which honestly feels pretty fitting considering cattle have been a huge part of my life for 30 years now.
It all started in 1997 when my grandfather made me help with his show cattle as punishment. Safe to say that plan failed spectacularly because I fell in love with it.
The throwback photo is 10-year-old me with a yearling Simmental bull, already completely hooked on the cattle world.
Showing cattle opened some pretty wild doors over the years. In 1998 I got to meet former Prince Andrew through showing cattle, and in later years I accidentally took out one of then-Prince Charles’ bodyguards with a senior bull. Cattle can humble everyone equally.
That passion followed me right through my massage studies. In 2008, when I was only six months into studying massage therapy, I travelled to South Australia to compete. Then again in 2009, just after graduating, I represented New Zealand in the Australasian final of beef stock judging at the Royal Hobart Show, where I was awarded Reserve Champion.
These days my worlds still overlap nicely. During the week I’m in the clinic helping people move and function better, and outside of that I’m usually on the farm with my partner.
Honestly, cows were never just a hobby. They’ve been part of who I am for most of my life.

It’s probably time I reintroduced myself as it’s been a while since I’ve properly shared a bit about me.
I qualified in massage therapy back in 2009, and since then I’ve continued studying alongside working full time in the industry. I’ve completed two additional diplomas along with multiple certificates over the years because I genuinely believe you never stop learning in this field.
I’m registered with Massage Aotearoa New Zealand and Reflexology New Zealand, and I regularly attend further training and professional development to keep building my knowledge and skills.
Outside of the clinic, life is pretty busy too. My partner and I lease a farm in the Awatere Valley where we farm sheep and cattle, including my family’s Angus cattle which have been part of my family since the 1980s.
When I’m not working or farming, you’ll usually find me in the garden growing vegetables or in the kitchen preserving and processing what I grow. I love being able to create things from scratch and stay connected to a slower, practical way of living.
I also spent five years living and working in South West Victoria, Australia before returning home to New Zealand.
I’ve now been based at Henry Street for 5 years, and I’m incredibly grateful for the support from all my wonderful clients over that time. Whether you’ve been coming for years or are brand new, thank you for trusting me with your care. ❤️
