turned 28 this past week 🤍

I don’t actually have many photos to show for it because I’ve been trying this whole "limit my phone use" thing ( freaking hardcore 😂 ) and honestly, it’s been really, really good for my mental health.

Instead, Dylan and I spent my birthday tucked away in a little oasis in the forest near Hot Water Beach. A beautiful Hutt, a raging fire, no technology, nowhere to be, and plenty of time to just exist. It was absolute bliss. I crafted up a STORM y'all 🤣

Before we left, his beautiful boy made me breakfast and a birthday cake, which was honestly one of the sweetest things.

It’s been a really special time. A quiet little reminder that sometimes the best moments are the ones you don’t even think to photograph.

Back to it today, working on SEOs (bruh - I'm an eyebrow lady 😭) and getting back to clients from my time away. Back on clients tomorrow, how lucky am I to do this work 🖤

Some of my favourite work never makes it online.

Perfect skin, perfect lighting and filter might “perform” better on Instagram… but that’s not why I became a cosmetic tattooist. It's also not a real representation of the people who sit in my chair.

This beautiful woman has lived with alopecia for years. Constantly drawing on a set of brows that never quite sat right. Creating something that felt like her again was the goal. There were a few extra considerations with her skin, and medical history (like many of us here in nz) so this was one of those appointments where experience, patience and knowing what to adjust really mattered.

I freaking love these brows.

More than that though, I loved watching what they did for her. The shift when she saw her new brows in the mirror was pretty special. 🤎

I’m trying this new thing where I post more of the work that means something to me, rather than worrying about what looks prettiest on a grid.

I think this one deserves its spot.

We’ve redefined her natural borders, balanced out the shape and created the illusion of a little more symmetry + volume without changing what makes her lips hers.

A few things we picked up after a full weekend of brows, lashes, tattoos, chats, demos and approximately 900 questions 😂

The biggest one? Most women aren’t looking for drama. They want to feel like themselves, without the crazy 17 step morning routine.

We met so many bloody lovely people, had some very good conversations, talked a LOT about old brow tattoos and somehow finished the weekend loving our jobs even more.

This lovely lady came to us wanting to refresh her old brow tattoo, but first we needed to clear out some of that old pigment. It's super common for older brow tattoo to present this way - grey / bluey tones. You may even know somebody with brows like this! Pigments used were vastly different than what we use nowadays.

After just one easy laser session we’d taken them as far as we needed to. A little brow pencil for a few months in between and she was ready for her new set. 🤌🏼

We were left with a yellow cast that can no longer be effectively targeted with laser. This will continue to fade over time, so we decided it was time to work with it, recreate a flattering brow and camouflage that yellow tone.

She wanted the same definition as before, with a more flattering shape and tone. These are the result 🤌🏼 Ombre carefully placed over that remaining colour, and I’m genuinely stoked with how beautifully they’ve come out.

They’re looking fresh and bold here, but will soften by around 30–40% once healed.
