For last week's Friday challenge, I wanted to add a fun 3D element to this bright set. It's amazing how one tiny handcrafted flower can completely transform a manicure and make it pop! ✨

✨ A few little changes have been happening at Vivid Nails NZ! ✨

You may have noticed that over the last month I've been making a few improvements around the salon. I truly believe that even small upgrades can make a big difference to your experience.

Here's what's new: (Just to name a few) 🤣
💖 A new dust collector for a cleaner, more comfortable appointment.
💖 A new arm rest for extra comfort.
💖 Two new nail lamps.
💖 A new light with a phone holder so I can capture even better videos and photos of your beautiful nails.
💖 Some lovely new plants to make the salon feel even more welcoming.
💖 New cupboards and storage to keep my ever-growing gel polish collection organised and easy to access.

I'm always looking for ways to improve my little salon, because I want every visit to feel relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable.

💅 Do gel manicures cause cancer?

It's a question that's been popping up more often, so let's clear up the facts.

The gel products themselves are not known to cause cancer. The concern is about the UV/LED lamp used to cure the gel.

Current research suggests that the amount of UV exposure from a typical gel manicure is very low.
It's perfectly reasonable to take a few simple precautions to minimise UV exposure.

✨ Here are two easy ways to protect your skin:
☀️ Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen to your hands around 20 minutes before your appointment.
🧤 Wear UV-protective manicure gloves with the fingertips exposed.

✨ Week 3 Micro Competition was Apothecary ✨

I'm not going to lie... this set tested my patience! 😅 It felt like everything that could go wrong, did. I blame it on being sick..

The tiny potion bottle was originally meant to go on the larger nail, but somehow I started painting it on the smaller one instead. By the time I realised, I decided to just roll with it and make the best of the situation. Sometimes you've just got to trust the process!

Not every competition piece turns out exactly how you picture it in your head, but every one teaches you something new. That's one of the reasons I love these challenges,they push me outside my comfort zone and help me grow as a nail artist.
