Here’s a diamond, I’m making heaps of silly mistakes, clearly misunderstanding some geometry and process, and there’s still plenty of things to sure up, but shaping something in minutes rather than hours feels like it could be progress.

I'm trying a new method to sharpen tungsten, this is the 0.9mm tip ground to 10 000 grit. It's essentially practice for sharpening diamonds at this point (ha)
It's requiring about 1/3rd of the weight I was previously using to emboss, I'm assuming that's because it's much sharper. Seems to be getting up to 14khz, but I'm running cuts for everything above that

Had to share this photo of 's blue 7" lathe cut cause the color combo is so good!
The ordering cart is down at the moment but I'm working on a few website changes - if you're interested in ordering please send me a message - I should be opening up for international orders soon, along with getting some samples up. I think I'm close to be done with any changes to the embossing process. I am working on moving into cutting with diamond but I think that's going to be a little bit of a process.

Finishing up the final parts of the JE 1-D.
The bobbins are made from linen phenolic rod, it's rather fragile before the wire and varnish is applied, but it's ability to be machined to have thin walls means there can be more coils closer to the armature. You will notice the inner hole is small - 3mm this is for winding purposes, then enlarged to accept the armature. Making it this way means the coils can be closer to the armature, without the bobbin itself collapsing on itself.
Once the coil is wound and the varnish is applied, it is baked at 180C to harden the varnish and then removed from the winding assembly. This means the coils itself is impermeable to moisture and dust, and each coil is unable to vibrate - lowering resonance.
Coils are would to 8ohm @ 1khz, with 0.315mm magnet wire.
Next step will be recording the coils current handling capability.
