One of the questions I'm asked most often is whether there's a "right age" to start anti wrinkle treatment. The honest answer is that there isn't one, it depends entirely on you.
Some people come in wanting to soften lines that have already settled in. Others are more interested in gently slowing how deeply those expression lines form over time.

For anyone who's curious about treatments but not quite ready for anti wrinkle or filler, I often suggest starting with a skin booster.
A skin booster doesn't freeze movement or change your shape. It works quietly beneath the surface, deeply hydrating the skin and encouraging your own collagen, so skin simply looks healthier and a little more radiant over time.

When someone comes in asking about lip filler, the first part of the appointment isn't about treatment at all.
It's about looking at your shape, volume, symmetry, and how the lips sit in proportion with the rest of the face. Lips aren't a standalone feature, and treating them that way is usually how things end up looking obvious.
So I take my time with the assessment. It tells me what would suit your face, and just as importantly, what wouldn't.

A good routine doesn't need to be complicated. In fact, the simpler it is, the more likely you are to actually stick with it.
Cleansing, hydration and sun protection go a long way on their own. They support the skin barrier, help protect against everyday damage, and make it easier for skin to hold on to moisture.
But there are things topical products can't do by themselves. If your skin has changed and your routine doesn't feel like it's keeping up, that's worth looking at properly rather than adding more products to the shelf.

I'm a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of clinical experience, and more than 10 of those have been spent in appearance medicine. Facial assessment is the part I've studied longest, because reading a face properly is what keeps the work subtle.

As we move towards the end of winter, I often notice a shift in how people feel about their skin. After months of cold air and indoor heating, skin can feel a little tired, dry or lacklustre.
Skin that has been through a hard winter usually needs support before it needs anything dramatic. That often means focusing first on rebuilding the barrier, the layer that keeps moisture in and irritation out, and reintroducing any stronger products slowly rather than all at once.
