I keep looking up at these and thinking, how did I get here? With my ADHD, school was so s**t and stressful. I always felt like I was trying to learn in a way that just didn’t work for my brain.
After school I went straight into a caregiver job. I wasted my teens working day and night, sometimes doing 18-hour shifts. I was so overworked and rundown. I was 19, training people who were 45. I remember sitting at work crying and thinking, how do I get out? How do I quit? If I don’t get out, I’m going to end up needing a caregiver myself.
Years went by in a job I’d fallen out of love with. I lost love for myself and lost respect for the people around me, but mostly I lost myself. I got back into drugs and drinking, and I was killing myself fast.
I knew I needed to stop drinking to save myself before I ended up killing someone or dead myself.
So one day I did.
Today I’m so proud to say I’m 2 years and 2 months sober from alcohol. That’s 791 days!
I never thought I’d be where I am today. I have a business. My own business, one I created myself! I didn’t come from much, but I did come from a family who choose to never give up on each other.
I didn’t have some big plan. I didn’t have a plan at all. I didn’t even think this idea would work out. I just had something I knew I really wanted to try, and I wanted something I could call mine.
So I started learning, failing, and wanting to give up. I kept questioning, what have I got myself into? There were long nights and so many tears, but there was also one girl who kept going. Who never gave up!
With every fail, I learnt where I’d gone wrong and how to do better. I thought over and over and over about how I could improve. Now I’ve stopped to look at what I’m growing Lit & Lush into and what I want it to become!
I’m doing this while working and studying for my diploma. Because why would I make this journey easy Some days are a lot, and I’m still figuring it out. I got heaps I want to do and learn, but I just wanted to stop and be really proud of what I’ve achieved so far

Hey everyone! A little Lit & Lush update 🫶
I’ve realised lately that I’ve been so focused on practising, learning and making sure everyone leaves happy that I haven’t been giving my own time and work the same value.
I’ve put so much into my training, products, equipment, hygiene and creating a space where my clients feel comfortable and looked after. I’m still learning and improving every day, and I don’t think that will ever stop! But that does not mean I need to give my work and time away.
Going forward, all appointments will have a set price confirmed when booking. Some services will still have discounted practice/model pricing while I build my experience, and those prices will always be made clear beforehand.
