This one feels pretty special. 🤍

Georgia has been part of our Aurum story for almost as long as there has been an Aurum story.

She came to us as an apprentice, grew with us, learned with us, worked bloody hard alongside us, left for a chapter, came home again and somewhere along the way became so much more than someone who worked in our salon.

She became part of the fabric of it.

So watching her unpack products for her own space is one of those full-circle moments that makes you stop and realise just how far we’ve all come.

Sonna and I have always believed that success isn’t about keeping good people underneath you. It’s about helping them grow enough to eventually stand completely on their own.

And Georgia, we are so bloody proud of you.

Proud of the stylist you’ve become, proud of the businesswoman you’re becoming, and proud that Aurum gets to be part of your story - just as you’ll always be part of ours.

From apprentice, to senior stylist, to mentor, to mate… and now, business owner.

Some days I catch my reflection and realise just how much this version of me cost.
Not in money. In grit.
In the early mornings, the late nights, the missed lunches, the tears in the back room, the constant problem solving, pushing through injury and the pressure of making sure everyone else is okay before I think about myself.

I have learned that building something you love while also being a māmā isn’t just about creating a successful business. It’s about showing up on the days you have nothing left to give. It’s about holding the standard when it’s easier to lower it. It’s about carrying the team when they’re finding their feet, training and believing in people before they believe in themselves, and choosing to keep going even when others would have checked out.

There have been plenty of moments where the easier option would’ve been to walk away.

But every challenge has shaped the culture we’ve built, every setback has taught me something valuable, and every person who’s trusted us has reminded me exactly why I started.

If you’re in the thick of building something right now, don’t mistake the hard seasons for failure. Sometimes they’re simply the price of creating something that’s worth staying for.

The version of you that’s waiting on the other side will be worth every bit of the price it took to get there.
