📣 A LITTLE UPDATE FROM TE AMOTAWA HEALING 📣
I’m making a couple of small changes to my booking policies moving forward. As my bookings continue to grow, I’m needing to put a few things in place to help protect my time and the spaces I have available for my clients.
For private bookings, a non-refundable deposit will now be required to secure your appointment.
🌿 Te Kakano — $125 | $50 deposit
🌿 Te Puna — $190 | $70 deposit
🌿 Te Awa — $250 | $100 deposit
Your deposit comes off the total cost of your session.
For my ACC & EAP clients, there will still be no deposit required. However, I’m asking that you please give me at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations, reschedules or no-shows with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged.
This isn’t about being difficult or wanting to charge people for things that happen, I completely understand that life happens. 🤍
It’s about giving me enough time to potentially offer that space to someone else, rather than having an appointment sitting empty at the last minute.
Every booking is time that I’ve set aside for you, and I really appreciate that same time and consideration being given back to me. 🫶🏽
Thank you for your understanding, your respect and for continuing to support my little mahi.
Ngā mihi nui ✨🌿

WHEN THE TABLE JUST ISN’T ENOUGH 🤍🌿
Sometimes the body needs a little more than what can be offered on the table.
That’s when we take the mahi to the ground.
Working on the floor gives me a different way to move with the body more pressure, more leverage and the ability to really get into those deeper spaces that are holding tension.
This session was all about the lower body, hips, thighs, legs and feet. Working through those areas slowly, using deeper compression, movement and body weight to create space and release.
Because sometimes it’s not about going harder… It’s about getting into the places that need a little more attention. 🌿
Different surface.
Different pressure.
Same intention helping the body release what it’s been holding.

A LITTLE LOWER BODY LOVE 🌿
This session was all about the lower body and releasing some of that tension that can build up after a good leg day. 🦵
I always find the legs, hips and glutes can hold onto a lot after training, so rather than just pushing through it, I like to slow things down and give the body a chance to release.
Using light compression, mirimiri and romiromi, we worked through those areas, getting some movement and blood flow back into the muscles. Then bringing in the rakau to work a little deeper where needed.
Once the lower body was feeling a bit more open, we finished through the back to help bring everything back together.
Nothing rushed, nothing forced… just working with the body and listening to what it needs on the day. ✨
Sometimes that recovery work is just as important as the workout itself. 🌿

PART 2 | 2-HOUR TE AWA SESSION 🌿
Here’s the second half of this Te Awa session and this is where we started working into the puku, chest and upper body.
There can be a lot of holding through these areas, especially when someone has been carrying ongoing tension through their shoulders, arms and upper body.
Using deeper compression, we start creating more space through the front of the body before making our way into the armpits.
The armpits are one of those areas that can be so easy to overlook, but there can be a whole lot of tension sitting around there.
I love that a Te Awa session gives us the time to explore these areas properly rather than just working on the obvious sore spot.
Sometimes you have to work around an area before you can really get to what’s underneath it.
And when you start putting all those pieces together, you can really see how connected the body is.
Two hours of mahi, plenty of kōrero, lots of moments of laughter and plenty of listening to the tinana, allowing the body to do what it needs to do. ✨

PART 1 | 2-HOUR TE AWA SESSION 🌿
A little behind-the-scenes from a recent Te Awa session.
This one was a full 2 hours, and there was so much happening that I’ve had to break it into two parts 😂
We started with the legs and hips, working through all that tightness with Romiromi and some gentle stretching.
Once we got things moving, I brought the rakau in to get deeper into those stubborn areas. The rolling and compression is one of my favourite ways to work through really tight muscles and encourage the blood to move through them. From there, we followed everything up through the back and into the shoulders.
What I love about having that extra time is you don’t have to rush from one area to the next. You can actually follow what the body is showing you and work with it.
There was a LOT going on in this session… and we’re only halfway through 👀
Part 2 coming up next. ✨

Testimonial ✨
It’s been a minute… 🤍
I’ve been a little quiet on here, but I’m back and ready to share more of the mahi, the healing, and the moments that happen behind the scenes at Te Amotawa Healing. ✨
So I thought I’d ease back into it with a little glimpse of Mirimiri & Romiromi.
Sometimes we carry tension for so long that we forget what it feels like to actually be relaxed. The hips, legs, back and shoulders can all tell a story. Deep tension through the hips can affect the way the rest of the body moves, which is why I love working with Romiromi and gentle stretching to create space and movement.
And the back… that can be a whole different story. 👀
We carry so much through there. Encouraging movement and blood flow through the back can help shift some of that heaviness and tension that eventually makes its way into the shoulders and neck. The body is connected. So for me, this mahi isn’t about chasing one sore spot.
It’s about listening. 👂
Feeling where the body is holding.
And creating the space for it to release.
Welcome back to my little corner of the internet. 🤗
More mahi, more healing and more behind-the-scenes coming your way. 🔥
