Have a look at the soles of your feet.
Using this diagram as a visual reference of some of the reflexes on the feet, take a moment to reflect:
What catches your attention right away?
Are specific zones showing discoloration, swelling, flaking, raised spots, or rough patches?
In Reflexology, different zones on the feet act as a map, reflecting areas of your body that may benefit from extra balance and care.
Here are a few common visual cues:
Redness: Often signals localized stress, irritation, or heat in that corresponding zone.
Pale or light spots: Can reflect reduced circulation, low energy, or sluggish activity.
Swelling or puffiness: May highlight fluid retention or emerging strain.
Flaking, bumps, or surface changes: Worth noting as potential signs of imbalance.
This check-in isn't designed to spark worry; it's simply a practice to help you tune into your body's subtle signals.
Examine your feet, observe what stands out, and drop a comment below sharing which spot you noticed first.

☀️ Du Mai — The Governing Vessel
Sea of Yang
In Zu Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Du Mai is the rising way — the luminous spine, the awakening of potential. Running up the back midline, it governs all the Yang meridians and is known as the “Sea of Yang.”
Du Mai is the outer river. It’s the vessel of will, of presence, of lifting life upward — connecting earth to heaven through the spine.
Through the feet, Zu Qigong offers a gentle way to invite this flow — supporting vitality, presence, and adaptability as energy moves naturally through the body’s own circuitry. ✨
Many clients notice a renewed sense of clarity and lift after this work — a quiet return to strength.

Zu Qigong is becoming a very popular session to have. It is such a beautiful modality.
I’m going to share 3 posts that go over 3 of the meridians that are apart of the sequence ☯️
Let me know if you enjoy the content 💙
🌙 Chong Mai — The Penetrating Vessel
In Zu Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chong Mai is known as the “Sea of Blood” — one of the three great vessels (alongside Ren Mai and Du Mai) that shape our vitality.
Chong Mai begins in the lower abdomen and runs straight up through the core of the body along the spine, closely connected to the Kidney meridian and our deepest reserves of energy, and it plays a central role in regulating blood, cycles, and reproductive and hormonal health.

Did you know that September is Cervical Screening Awareness Month 🌸
September is Cervical Screening Awareness Month, and it feels like a gentle nudge worth passing on: if your smear test is overdue, this is your sign to book it in.
We know screening appointments can feel awkward or easy to put off — life gets full, and it’s easy to let these things slide.
But a few quiet minutes now can mean early detection and peace of mind later.
If nerves are part of what’s holding you back, know that’s completely normal, and your GP or nurse is there to make it as comfortable as possible.
Looking after your body is one of the most caring things you can do for yourself.

I 💯 agree with this. All of my modalities aim to bring your nervous system into a calmer state.
How touch-based therapies support your rest & digest response 🌿
Reflexology, Reiki, Access Bars, and Zu Qigong foot energy therapy all work with the body in a similar way — through calm, focused touch that signals safety to the nervous system.
Research suggests reflexology may increase parasympathetic activity and support heart rate variability, often via stimulation of the vagus nerve
Studies on reiki have shown it can shift the body toward parasympathetic dominance, with measurable changes in heart rate and heart rate variability
Access bars research is still early, with practitioner-led studies suggesting a calming effect on the nervous system
Zu Qigong foot energy therapy is a newer modality, so formal research hasn’t caught up yet — but many clients comment that they actually fall asleep during their session, and feel deeply relaxed and calm both during and afterwards

✨ More Than Just a Foot Massage: How Reflexology Restores Your Balance ✨
Have you ever wondered what actually happens when you step onto the table for a reflexology session? 👣
It feels heavenly, but the benefits run so much deeper than simple relaxation. By applying targeted pressure to specific reflex points, reflexology works directly with your nervous system to support your whole-body wellbeing:
📉 Lowers Stress Hormones: Helps reduce cortisol levels, allowing your body to step out of "fight or flight" mode.
💤 Promotes Restful Sleep: Calms a racing mind and prepares your nervous system for deeper, more restorative sleep.
🫀 Encourages Deep Relaxation: Lowers heart rate and eases physical tension from head to toe.
🌿 Restores Natural Balance: Supports your body’s own innate ability to self-regulate, reset, and recharge.
Whether you book a dedicated Reflexology session or experience it woven into my signature "The Whole Shebang" treatment, every session at Healing Ways is tailored completely to what you need on the day. 🤍
💬 Over to You!
For those who have experienced reflexology with me—how has reflexology supported your wellbeing journey?
Did it help you catch up on sleep? Ease built-up tension? Or give you that much-needed hour of quiet "me time"?
Drop a comment below! I’d love to hear your story. 👇✨
