A little stop with a whole lot of heart. 🤎
This weekend I'm up in Dunedin looking after my amazing clients and getting their dread maintenance done. On the way, I made a special stop in Milton to catch up with one of my soul sisters.
We installed a fresh new set of dreads while reattaching the dreadlocks she'd lovingly grown and worn for six years back into her natural hair. Seeing her old dreads become part of her new journey again was such a special moment.
I was welcomed into her beautiful home, met the cutest pup, Max 🐶, enjoyed a delicious homemade lunch, and we shared hours of kōrero about mahi, life, and everything in between.
This is why I love travelling for my clients. It's never just about hair—it's about the connections, the trust, and the friendships that grow along the way. Thank you for opening your home and trusting me with your dread journey once again. 💛
Now it's on to Dunedin to spend the weekend catching up with all my wonderful clients and giving their dreads some much-needed love! See you all soon. 🙌

Today I had the pleasure of giving this awesome lady her new dreads, and what a small world it turned out to be! We discovered I went to school with her son, found out she's related to my kids, and spent the appointment sharing plenty of laughs.
She's a motorbike-riding wahine with an adventurous spirit, and seeing how much she loves her new dreads made my day! 🔥
Thank you for trusting me with your hair. I hope your new dreads bring you as much confidence and joy as they were to create. 🫶
As Matariki comes to an end, my heart is full.
This year we spent Matariki surrounded by some of our whānau and friends, sharing laughter, stories, and precious time together. We also took a special drive to visit a dear friend who passed away a couple of years ago, taking a quiet moment to remember the memories that will always stay with us.
Last night we headed down to the Bluff Matariki Market, where we soaked up the beautiful atmosphere, enjoyed some amazing kai, listened to beautiful waiata, and celebrated alongside our community. It was such a special way to honour Matariki together.
This Matariki was especially emotional as we also said our final goodbye to Mum, who passed away earlier this year. While the ache of missing those we love never truly disappears, Matariki reminds us to remember those who have gone before us while also embracing the promise of a new year.
As the stars rise, so do our hopes. We carry the love and lessons of those we've lost with us while looking ahead to new dreams, new goals, and new beginnings. Their light will always guide us.
To everyone who is grieving, celebrating, healing, or simply taking time to reflect, may this new year bring you peace, strength, love, and countless reasons to smile.
