The man in this photo was taken in 1946. This guy is Ken Shimizu. He is 35 years old. He has 2 children. Shimizu never runs. Sleeps late. Eat whatever he wants. Even drink beer instead of water. Eat dinner with many kinds of food every night...
What does Shimizu do to get such a body?
Shimizu doesn't have any secrets.
Shimizu is the person sitting in the bottom left corner of the photo... As for the man standing in the middle, I'm not sure.

Here are my 5 Main Benefits of Sports Massage:
Sports Massage can Reduce Muscle Soreness & Tension

Many of my clients are in fact hard working farmers.
Sports Massage can reduce localised pain and take away muscle tension too. When youāre in pain the bodyās reaction is to tighten/stiffen up. I like to call it self splinting. Sports massage is great at reducing this. Its worth noting though that massage is not a stand-alone treatment on its own. Its 1 of the many pieces within Health & Fitness jig-saw puzzle. I never just recommend Sports Massage on its own, instead it should be included as part of a bigger treatment plan. This should include strength-based exercise too. Which I can also help with.
Sports Massage can help Improve your Circulation.
After any deep tissue massage you will notice the skin goes rosy red. Pressure through the skin dilates small blood vessels improving blood flow around a fatigued/sore area. More circulation is believed to improve healing rates and build new tissue quicker.
Sports Massage has a calming effect on the body.
The skin is the largest organ in the human body! (FACT). Just under the skin are millions of nerve endings, and they all have a purpose to provide the brain with sensory information for your senses. Sports Massage stimulates these many nerve endings under the skin (due to its deep pressure). This neurological benefit bombards the brain and the effect of this isā¦. RELAXATION. If you are calmer thereās less stress/anxiety, you will move with more flexibility and you will also sleep better (sleeping better = you recover faster!!) This has to be one of the biggest reasons people get Sports Massage.
Massage provides a time for you to switch-off from the daily grind!
In this modern age where we are all glued to out smartphones it can be hard to escape stress and get a true work-life balance. Massage can be of psychological help as it is physical! Talking through a problem with me who firstly cares and also wants to help is massive. Its like āletting some steam offā and providing stress-relief! If you feel better (psychologically) you will (hopefully) perform better - is the idea. I will be the first to admit if I canāt help and will refer you.
Sports massage is better after events/busy times in the work/family life
I always tell all my clients booking in for Sports Massage to see it as a Treat or a Reward for working hard! If you are active and like to keep healthy then Sports Massage should be scheduled in your diary periodically. You just need to get the balance right how much to have. There is no right answer how much you should have. Based on need, time and budget.

One of the most common questions I get about pregnancy massage is whether I use one of those fancy tables where you get to lie on your belly even if youāre 42 weeks pregnant.
My answer is no!!
Although when youāre pregnant it seems like a miracle to be able to lie face-down, those so-called pregnancy massage tables ultimately do not serve you well, and can actually cause injury to your body or even your baby.
My reasons have to do with the mechanics of the spine and abdomen. Pregnancy massage tables are only able to be customized to a certain degree, which means you will likely be lying over a hole thatās too wide, too narrow, too deep or too shallow for your body at any given stage in your pregnancy. Essentially, while lying face-down, there are two situations:
1. The gap is loose and does not apply pressure on your belly, but the weight of your uterus will be pulling your abdomen into the hole, increasing the curve of your lumbar spine and adding to the stress on your sacral and uterine ligaments. This effect is increased even further if a massage therapist were to press down, working the muscles of your lower back. Pregnancy already creates a tendency toward increased spinal curvature and ligament tension; this is quite likely one reason youād like a massage right now, and I would much rather help alleviate that discomfort, instead of compounding it.
2. Your belly and spine are well supported, but the trade-off is that the weight of your body and any added pressure from a massage therapistās hands are translated directly into compressing your abdomen and uterus.
