Last weekend Hair By Ange & I spent a day at the Northland Wedding + Event Expo meeting folk looking to get married up here in Northland. We also did the hair on 5 models for the Catwalk Show which ran around lunchtime at the Expo.

As ever we had normal hair to deal with. Natural curl, long medium heavy hair, three with fine shoulder length hair. Some had padding added to make the hair appear fuller. One had a ponytail extension as she didn’t have the hair for that length of ponytail. One had longer than usual face framing as we did want to cut it.

Actually it worked like a normal wedding morning where we were problem solving as we went. We hadn’t met our models, only getting a photo of them without seeing their hair first hand.

Hair shedding…😱 it’s a scary one eh!

I woke up one day and realised that my hair was on me instead of my head. Mild panic ensues as I wonder how long it will last, about 4-6 weeks. I also looked back 3 months to think why & pin point it to a big hormone flush. Nothing else seemed to fit.

So it was wait it out and then start using my hair growth products.

The shedding finally stopped a few weeks back as I had a Great Lengths AU/NZ | Premium Hair Extensions masterclass training to attend in Auckland last Monday, where we became the models. Looking at colour blending, fine hair options & different placements for hair filling. I couldn’t have asked for more perfect timing.

I had exactly what happens for a lot of folk. Hair dropping, now what? These little bonds will last me 3-4 months and help with filling in the hole left around my face. Cost of installation about $220.

It also gives me an opportunity live with GL Keratin Bond Extensions and their maintenance.

This week’s job is clearly to sort out my regrowth. 😆🙄

Such a lovely emotional time doing hair for Jenna & her family yesterday. The best way to finish my Wedding Season. A privilege to be asked back after being involved a 6 years back for her Sister’s wedding in 2020.

Saturday was a stunning day for a May wedding .
Kirsty my Bride wanted soft beautiful hair with soft waves. Her hair was super fine with a tendency to fluff & frizz.
Out with the Blow dryer & big round brush, then into Velcros. I reheated them with my silver bullet air wrap & left them for a half hour to cool.

She was super happy. Totally nailed the brief!!

Loved working with these gorgeous women yesterday, going with the day & embracing it. A few changes happened but it was ok. Thanks for having me. You looked stunning.

This gorgeous Wedding party was great to be with. Lots of laughs & memories. Hockey mates through & through but also there for each other over the years. Beautiful hair ups, multi coloured Bridesmaids dresses & super glam for the Bride.

Thanks for having me & can’t wait to see what was captured of your day.
