Last night marked the final race of the season for TBT Racing at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway in Palmerston North, competing in the highly anticipated Best Pairs Meet. We were proud to be paired with the 7P bike of Matt Stewart and Nick Dunne, and after three hard-fought heats filled with exciting, clean racing, our combined efforts put us in a tie for third overall with the 34V and 69V group F bikes. This led to a tense run-off to decide the final podium position — a true winner-takes-all battle. Matt and Nick stepped up under pressure and brought it home in style, clinching 1st place in the run-off and securing 3rd overall for our pairing for the night. It was a fantastic way to close out the season, and we’re thrilled with how we’ve progressed as a team. We really feel like we’ve found our rhythm on the bike and taken things to the next level. A fantastic weekend at Waharoa Speedway! It was a real privilege to be part of the first sidecar event there in many years. Although originally scheduled for January but postponed due to rain, the wait was well worth it, and we couldn’t have asked for better conditions on the day. A huge thank you to Daniel Hickman for his tireless work in organising the event, and to the Waharoa club for being so accommodating and making us feel incredibly welcome. With 17 bikes entered, the racing was competitive and exciting from start to finish. We were really pleased with our results in the heats—1st, 3rd, and 3rd—earning us a spot in one of the B finals, where we finished 2nd behind the 1NZ bike, just missing out on a place in the A final. Still, a great result and a strong way to wrap up the day. Unfortunately, Rosebank was rained off today, but we’re grateful to have enjoyed such a great day’s racing yesterday and to finish the weekend on a high.
