I want to do a huge shout out to Daily Bread (Waiwhetu Bakery) - Pam, her parents and all the daily bread bakery family for the fairwell gifts. You guys have been amazing neighbours to work next to for 9 years. My 1st year next to you guys i put on 10kgs from all the delicious food and goodies you guys make and create!! I will miss you all! but I will also still see you guys often. I still look forward to my quiches on a regular basis!! Thanks for all the support with the move and helping me out where you guys can! It’s much appreciated! Thank you thank you thank you!!

I’m excited to let you know that as of tomorrow, 1 September, Fresh&Faded Barbershop will be operating from our brand-new location.

The new shop has been designed to give you more than just a haircut – it’s an experience. With the Fresh&Faded Man Cave atmosphere, you can relax, unwind, and enjoy a comfortable, unique barbering experience while receiving the same quality service you know and trust.

As always, every service includes a complimentary beverage, and hot towels are available with selected services.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. I truly appreciate every booking, referral, and word of encouragement. I’m looking forward to welcoming you into the new shop and continuing to provide the best service possible.

After 9 incredible years here… it’s time to say good bye and a time for a new chapter. ❤️✂️💈

This is a post I’ve been putting off writing because, honestly, it’s emotional.

For the last 9 years, Fresh&Faded has called this shop home. It’s never just been four walls to me. It’s where I’ve watched kids grow into young adults, where clients became mates, and where so many of you became like family to me. We’ve shared laughs, stories, tough times, celebrations, sad tears, happy tears and created memories I’ll never forget.

Leaving this place is one of the hardest business decisions I’ve ever had to make.

But sometimes, as hard as it is, change isn’t something you want… it’s something you need.

After everything that’s happened over the last few years with Covid, having Barbers come and go, my alcoholism, breaking apart my little family, ACC, injury’s and the challenges that came with it all, I’ve had to make a decision that’s best for my future, my family, and Fresh&Faded. This move is about rebuilding, growing, and putting myself in a better position to keep doing what I love for many more years and striving to the top with no limits.

I also know one of the biggest frustrations with my current shop has always been the parking. So many of you have battled to find a park, and I know that’s made visiting harder than it should be. The new location has much better parking, making your visit easier, more convenient, and a whole lot less stressful.

This isn’t just a move…

It’s a complete rebrand.

A fresh start.

A new style.

A new vision.

Fresh&Faded is evolving into a relaxed, chilled Man Cave experience. A place where you can switch off from the outside world, enjoy the banter, have a complimentary drink or two 😉, relax, and leave with a quality cut and a smile on your face knowing you are looking better then fresh! I’ve always wanted to create more than just a barbershop—I wanted to build a place people genuinely enjoy coming to and have something different to the rest of the other Barbershops out there. This isn’t just my shop, this is our safe place, our Man Cave and our relaxation point to destress and unwind from the world.

Unit 22, 7 Tunnel Grove, Gracefield

The original shop isn’t disappearing just yet either. We’ll be keeping it open for walk-ins with our junior barber and seeing how that goes, while I focus on building the new shop into everything I’ve envisioned.

No matter where I am, one thing will never change…

The same Jae

The same booking system.

The same quality cuts.

Just a different and better location for all to enjoy.

To every single person who’s supported Fresh&Faded over these last 9 years, thank you. Whether you’ve been coming since day one or only recently found us, you’ve played a part in this journey. You’ve supported my dream, backed my business through the highs and lows, and I honestly can’t thank you enough!

I know this move is bittersweet, but I truly believe it’s the start of something special. I hope you’ll follow me to this next chapter and continue being part of the Fresh&Faded family.

Here’s to never forgetting where we started… and being excited for where we’re going 🍻

The new location is only a 3 minute drive from the only shop and for those kids that come to me by themselves there is a bus stop right at the end of the street with only a 30 second walk to my door.

I will be posting my new shop location closer to opening time. Also sending out text and emails with new location. Keep your eyes 👀 pealed and watch this space. Bring on early September 🥳
