I have specified hours on my page, but working from home I try to be as flexible as possible. I'm finding more and more people are coming to me because of my 40 years experience in the industry, and my ability to read what people require from their hairstyle quite quickly, particularly as they have struggled in the past to find a stylist to really listen to them and understand their need and wants, and find some kind of compromise. Growing up I was influenced by a Father (Master Craftsman barber and stylist) and my Mother who was being the PR, finances and staff management, and domestic Goddess, SuperGran etc. This was quite a tough position flanked by other family members from 2 or 3 generations, but It was always an interesting mix of skills and personalities. My main goal is to have happy clients, I take an interest in their jobs, lifestyles and families, but I try to focus on them and how having an easy care manageable style, fits into all that. My charges are based on my time being valued at $80 per hour, as that is fair, given my experience and the current market prices, when doing longer services, I don't always charge by that scale.
