Hey everyone!

As many of you already know, my family and I have made the move to Christchurch to embrace life down south, and I’ve got to say, we’re absolutely loving it!

Today marks our last official day of owning Ace of Blades Matamata, as the reins are now being handed over to my brother-in-law, Jalal (who you’ve all had the pleasure of meeting!). But don’t worry – aside from seeing a new face behind the chair, everything else stays the same. You’ll still get the same top-notch cuts, fades, and that signature service with a smile 😊

I just want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for the incredible support through all the ups and downs. Whether it was sticking by me during the tough times, like the uncertainty of Covid, or celebrating the wins together – I truly appreciate you all.

A special shoutout to my amazing brothers Joe and Mana, who bring their own unique vibe and energy to Ace of Blades. The shop wouldn’t be the same without them!

Guess who's back?!!

Yes you saw right, our man Joe is back here in our beautiful Matamata after a stint in the big smoke of Wellington!

We are super stoked to have him back as a part of our Ace of Blades Team!

Along with Mana and Wabi, no more super long waits!

After a super busy start to the year, months of 2-3 hour wait times, people at the door sometimes an hour before we open, and with Wabi being close to burn out and in desperate need of a haircut himself, we finally have a solution!! 🎉🎊

Introducing the solution...𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮!!!

Mana hails from Ngāti Hauā and he comes to us with years of experience as a very skilled and confident qualified Barber, no matter what you ask for, he can provide as this guy definitely knows how to cut, fade and blade! 💯👌

We are grateful to have Mana on board with us to ease the work load that is continuously increasing and we would also like to thank all of you who have been so patient and shown your support during these past 6 months by putting up with the super long waiting times, so thank you again 🙌

Hey all, due to being super quiet for the first time in what feels like months, I have decided to shut shop early and start my long overdue holiday now 👍

So we are gonna give this a go since the Booking System did not work out as predicted!

When you come in, Wabi will pass you a number and give you an estimated wait time, and this will reserve your place in the "queue" should you get back in the shop in time.

So if you need to pop to the supermarket or decide to wait in the car with the kids, this can be done ⌚

When you get in the seat for your cut, just hand the keytag back to Wabi 👍

Hi all,

After much deliberation over the past few days, we have decided that the booking system is not as effective as we would have liked 😔

Even though there are the positives, such as getting one on one time with each of you, and also giving you the ease of booking, there was too many negatives and too much time waiting around due to no shows and most importantly having to turn away those who were still walking in, which unfortunately did not sit well with me.

We hope to reintroduce the system when we bring on a new worker (who we do have in the pipelines) so that we can offer both bookings and walk ins at the same time.

So in order to accommodate going back to Walk In's Only I have extended the hours as follows:

Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday: 9am to 5pm
Wednesday: 9am to 5pm

Bookings for tomorrow and Saturday are still valid, however if you have booked next week onwards you would have received an email from us earlier informing you that we were making these changes and those bookings were no longer valid.
