ANTI WRINKLE TREATMENTS:Sophie Hunter Aesthetics specialises in providing anti-wrinkle treatments. As we age, the lines on our face can become deeper and more entrenched, and can make us appear older than we feel, or give us a resting expression that doesn’t reflect our personality. Anti-wrinkle injections can help to relax the muscle causing the wrinkle, and with regular treatment, may cause them to soften considerably.

An appointment for Anti-wrinkle will take approximately 30-45 minutes, which includes a full consultation, facial assessment and medical history to ensure your suitability for the desired treatment.
A consent form is discussed and signed and photos are taken. There is minimal downtime, with effects being felt within 3-5 days, and lasting approx 3-4 months.

I like to make sure my clients have a fresh and natural result from their treatment. After 12 years experience in the field I know I can help you get the results you're after.

If you’ve been lucky enough to spend some time in tropical climes, you’ll have noticed that your skin is plumper, glowing and smoother, all because of one thing - the humidity. The extra moisture in the air helps keep your skin hydrated and firm. In New Zealand, especially during the winter, the air can be very dry, especially when you factor in air conditioning and heating. You may find your skin is a bit dull and perhaps even a bit itchy and scaly. Hyaluronic acid is the star ingredient for today’s skin concern. Hard to say (hiya-lew-ronic) but easy to incorporate into your regime, hyaluronic is a humectant - something that attracts and holds water. Applied as a serum under your moisturiser, it will hold on to water molecules and keep your skin glowing and hydrated. In clinic I recommend Synergie Skin’s HyalaVive. The gold standard of hydrating serums, it will help you say goodbye to fine lines and dry patches - a super addition to your skin care regime!

Most of you probably think of Zinc as those small, brightly coloured pots of goo we all had in the 80s to take to the beach. Zinc has come a long way since then!Applied topically to problem skin, breakouts and inflammation, Zinc will protect the area and boost the healing process with its anti-inflammatory properties, and ability to regulate cell turnover.Modern zinc products are invisible, so can be used freely without fear of the infamous white cast some products used to cause. Eating zinc-rich foods will also support collagen renewal along with myriad other processes that the body cannot perform without enough zinc. It is most easily obtained via eating red meat, poultry and nuts.
There is also interesting data out there showing that taking Zinc as a supplement can lead to longer-lasting effects of your Anti-wrinkle treatments too!
I recommend Synergie Skin Uber Zinc. It has 21% zinc oxide to calm everything down, and a natural SPF of 15, making it a safe choice for a daily moisturiser.

The next ingredient on our list of skin-care must-haves is niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3. We've already learned that Vitamin C is a fighter, blocking the nasties from damaging our skin, and that Vitamin A lay waste to any debris. Let's think of niacinamide as the one that goes around tidying everything up and giving everything a boost. It's the matriarch of the skincare ingredients!

What does it do?
It's been proven to reduce the appearance of pores, which can be a problem in oilier skin. It repairs the skin barrier, reducing the likelihood of sensitivity and breakouts. Used in a strong enough solution, it also reduces the uptake of melatonin, meaning less dark spots.
Not only that, it also gives Vit C and Retinol a boost, meaning they work synergistically together to enhance performance.

At Sophie Hunter Aesthetics I have seen great results and had wonderful feedback from clients who have added a Synergie Skin niacinamide/Vitamin B serum to their routine.

We've heard about Vitamin C and how it acts as a defense system for your skin. Now if you add Vitamin A to your skincare regime you've got yourself a duo of ingredients that work together to improve the look and tone of your skin. Every day your skin sheds skin cells (Fun Fact: the dust around your home is mostly skin cells). Sometimes, this process can be slow, resulting in dry, dull and sallow skin. A little helping hand with the speed at which it sheds can make an impactful change. We do this by applying Vitamin A, also known as Retinol.

Vitamin A results can differ depending on the strength of product you use. A mild solution will give you glowing, soft and smooth skin. A stronger product will also help to lighten sunspots.

Vitamin A is a serious skincare ingredient that will work. It can cause slight redness and peeling in the early days. Using it every other day will help initially until your skin adjusts. Following up with a good SPF is essential and will mean that the baby-soft skin you've just uncovered is protected.

At Sophie Hunter Aesthetics I recommend the Synergie Skin Ultimate A or the Acceler-A Vitamin A serum.
Use only at night and wake up to smooth, soft skin.

Vitamin C is not only an essential vitamin to consume in your diet every day, it is also a powerful antioxidant when applied topically. What is an antioxidant? It is a substance that protects cells from damage and inflammation in your skin. Think UV rays and pollution sources such as car exhaust.
Suffering from dark skin spots? Vitamin C helps by blocking the production of pigmentation.
It also stimulates the production of collagen, which decreases naturally as we get older.
In a nutshell, Vitamin C protects our skin from the baddies trying to get in, and assists the good guys in helping to improve skin tone and texture.

Not all Vitamin C products are created equal. Look for a high product strength and is in an active form (L-ascorbic acid)
Store in a cool, dark place as Vitamin C has the potential to lose its stability quickly.

At Sophie Hunter Aesthetics I recommend using Synergie Skin Effica C as part of your morning routine. This formulation is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, is lightweight and fast absorbing.

Synergie Skin Effica C combines Vitamin C with CoenzymeQ10 - another powerful antioxidant, and is a wonderful addition to your skin care routine.
