✨ MEET LILLY — THE NEW FACE BEHIND THE NAIL SHOP 💅🏼 ✨

Hi everyone! I’m Lilly, and I’m so excited to introduce myself as the new owner and nail technician behind The Nail Shop. 💖

A little about me — I’m NZ trained and NZQA qualified with a Level 4 Certificate in Nail Technology, and nails are genuinely something I’m incredibly passionate about. I love everything from clean, classic sets through to long, detailed, glamorous nail art. ✨

As I take over The Nail Shop, my goal is to build on what existing clients already know and love while bringing in my own style, creativity and some exciting new services along the way.

Most importantly, I want all of Sam’s existing clients to know that you are absolutely welcome here. 🫶🏼 I know changing nail techs can feel a little strange when you’ve been seeing the same person for a long time, so I’m looking forward to meeting you, learning exactly how you like your nails and making the transition as easy as possible.

You’ll be seeing plenty more of me, my work and what’s coming to the salon very soon.

✨ A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE NAIL SHOP ✨

After a lot of changes, planning and some pretty big decisions, I can finally officially announce that The Nail Shop has been sold. ❤️

As of 31 August, I will no longer be the owner, and from 1 September the new owner will officially take over and begin her own chapter with The Nail Shop.

For all of my existing clients, I want to reassure you that everything will continue as normal. The new owner is fully qualified and will be picking up right where I leave off, continuing to offer all of the same treatments and services that I currently offer.

Any appointments already booked for September onwards will remain exactly as they are, so there is nothing you need to do. She will be taking over the existing bookings and continuing to look after all of my wonderful clients. ❤️

For the time being, I have temporarily switched off online bookings while we get everything ready for the handover. If you would like to make an appointment, please just call or message me and I can book you in. Online bookings will be available again once the handover is complete.

I honestly want to say the biggest THANK YOU to every single one of my clients who has supported me and The Nail Shop over the years. Whether you’ve been with me from the beginning or only recently found me, every appointment, conversation, laugh and bit of support has meant more to me than you probably realise.

Running The Nail Shop has been such a huge part of my life, and saying goodbye is definitely bittersweet. I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships I’ve made and for everyone who helped make my little business what it became. ❤️

And now it’s time for our family’s next adventure! 🇦🇺✈️

On 2 September, we will be flying out to Australia to start a brand-new chapter of our lives. It’s exciting, scary and a little crazy all at the same time, but we’re ready to see where this next adventure takes us.

Thank you again for supporting me, my family and The Nail Shop. I couldn’t have done it without you all, and I’ll always be grateful for the part you’ve played in this chapter of my life.

Here’s to closing one chapter and starting another. 🥂❤️

I did it and didn’t DIE!! Came close near the end though 🫣

Almost time.

And so it starts!! Here at the start line for the half marathon. Starting at 8am

Not going to lie… I’m pretty gutted.
After all the training, planning, early mornings, sore legs, and pushing myself mentally, I’ve had to make the hard decision to drop from the full marathon down to the half marathon because of this stupid chest infection and ongoing breathing issues.

My body is basically forcing me to be sensible for once. 😂

It’s honestly frustrating because I know how much work I put in behind the scenes, and mentally I was so ready to take on the full. But right now, finishing healthy is more important than destroying myself trying to prove something while I can barely breathe properly.

So… half marathon it is. Still showing up. Still putting one foot in front of the other. Still proud that I even got this far considering how rough the last few weeks have been.

The full marathon goal isn’t gone forever — just postponed. 🖤🏃‍♀️

Migraine day today 😵‍💫
If I seem quiet, slow to reply, or a little distant, please know I’m dealing with a migraine with aura. Bright lights, noise, stress, and too much stimulation make it a lot worse, so today I just need a bit of calm, kindness, and quiet while I ride it out. I’m not being rude, I’m just in pain!! Don’t worry I’m passed the blurred vision now. Just suffering with the other stuff.
