We’re opening up Wednesday morning sessions starting this week.
Come for a midweek warm-up, a river dip, and a slow start to the day.
Sessions are at 10:00am and 11:15am, bookings are now open.

Looks like a rainy King’s Birthday weekend is coming, perfect sauna weather.

We’ll be open all long weekend, including Monday.

Saturday and Sunday will run with our normal weekend hours, and on Monday we’ll be open all day, so you’ve got plenty of chances to warm up, slow down, and enjoy the sauna.

Update for tomorrow’s sessions

Nelson City Council confirmed at 4:30pm today, Friday, that Maitai Valley Road will remain closed due to the flooding risk.

Because of this, we won’t be able to fire up early enough for our morning sessions, so all Saturday morning sauna sessions tomorrow are cancelled.

The good news is that the weather is looking much better, so we are still planning to open later in the day.

Our first session of the day will be at 3:45pm, and our Guided Herbal Sauna session has been moved to 5:00pm.

If your booking has been affected, we’re happy to either refund or reschedule it, just send us a message and let us know what works best for you.

A few little things we’ve added to make the experience even better.

Now that it gets dark so early, we’ve put lights in along the way to the river and through the car park, so those evening dips after the sauna feel a bit easier, safer, and honestly pretty special.

And because everyone loves the icy cold plunge, we’ve decided to keep it available year-round. It’s ready for all our afternoon sessions for anyone who wants the full hot and cold experience.

At Ahi Mahi Sauna, Celtic sea salt and filtered water are included with every booking. Adding a small pinch of mineral-rich salt to your water can be a simple way to support hydration and help replace what’s lost through sweating. It’s one of the small touches we’re pleased to offer our guests.
