The Cut Hairdressing

Vivan Chin is a Wellingtonian who started his career in 1984 after training at the prestigious Vidal Sassoon Hairdressing Academy in London. Over the subsequent 30 odd years he has owned and managed a handful of salons. Upon returning from London he co-owned Pyramidz Hair Salon in Wellington CBD.

1990 owned a Barber Shop in Suffolk, UK.

2003 managed George Janis Hair Salon in Wellington CBD for about 18 months.

2004 started up his own business again and co-owned VS Hairdressing in Karori until 2013 when a motorcycle accident caused him to be off work for about 18 months and selling his share in the salon. Upon recovering from the accident he briefly managed a salon in Johnsonville before working part time at Salon Savoy in Tawa. After moving to Otaki from Raumati South at the end of 2016, he decided it was time to open his own salon again to reduce travel. He has transforming a studio at the back of his property into a salon The Cut Hairdressing.
