Kia Ora everyone!
As you would be aware, Kate sold Grin to Vogue Boutique several weeks ago.
Saturday was Kate's last day as our boss.
Beaker (Caitlin) and the team organised a secret wee get together to say hooray to Grin after 16 years and to thank her for welcoming us all to her team many years ago, respectively. We wanted to show her our gratitude and support. Kate had no idea and was very overwhelmed. We're like a little family here. Can't believe we managed to keep it a secret from her 🤭
As of today, Kate is just our colleague 🤣 with Vogue officially taking over as owners. Such a weird feeling knowing her and Ida can't boss us around anymore 😉 watch out Katherine; we're coming for ya! 😜
At 2pm on the 19th November we will be shutting the Grin doors for the final time; sad but very exciting.
When that happens, we will be closed for a little over a week while the salon gets a much desired renovation and rebrand to Vogue Boutique ✨
Once we open there will be a team of 11 stylists, including apprentices, working together; please bare with us all while we get into the swing of things.
What better way to start the Christmas madness, bring it on!
So with saying all this....
Ida, Kate, Mike, Alysha, Beaker and Ivy would like to say a huge thank you to all our beautiful, funny and well loved clients who have become friends and made Grin the way it is.

🙋‍♀️ Hello to all our wonderful friends!
✨ We have some really exciting news.... ✨
Some of you may have heard it already but for those of you who haven't... 🤭
Our beautiful, kind, funny, amazing friend and boss, Kate, has sold grin. ❤️
But fear not, for we will still be in the same awesome spot with the same awesome team. Yes, you saw that correctly. We are all staying on, even Kate, Ida and Michael 😲 😁 🐶 🐾
We will however have new bosses, Kelly and Lizzie from Vogue Boutique, with a new salon fit out, new name and more amazing staff for you to get to know. 🤩
Keep an eye out as we continue to update you all as we move along in the process.
We want to thank you all for your amazing patronage over the past 16 years as Kate has grown grin to be the wonderful, welcoming and homely salon it is now known for.
We are all sad that grin is coming to an end but oh so very excited to see where this new adventure will take us all.
Kate has decided to keep some of the hearts on her famous heart wall and would like to gift the remainder of them to our loyal clients. If you would like one, feel free to come in at any stage from now to choose one you would love to have ♥️ 😘

Our beautiful new apprentice had her 17th birthday yesterday so we decided to celebrate and have some fun while the boss is away 😉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YESTERDAY IVY
Thank you for all your help over the past week and a half while Kate and Mike have been away with Covid. Kate was due back yesterday but is still very crook so Ivy, Sophie and myself (Beaker) have been holding down the fort at work! It's been pretty stressful but we've all managed and can see some form of normality coming back next week.
Thank you so much to all our clients who have been oh so understanding with it all, you have made it so much easier on us and for that we are very grateful!

It is with sadness in our hearts that we have to write this post.

On Friday the 3rd December the COVID-19 Traffic Light System for Aotearoa comes into play.
For your safety, and that of our own and the whanau and friends around us, we have all been fully vaccinated.
Unfortunately, as a close contact business working under the new mandates we will no longer be able to work on unvaccinated people; we know this means some of our beautiful clients will not be allowed in to see us until we go to the Green Traffic Light System. This breaks our hearts.
We do not judge anyone's personal, religious or medical reasoning behind not getting the vaccine.
When we move into the Orange setting on Friday we are required to sight and scan everyone's Vaccine Passport.

These beautiful girls came in for a mother daughter birthday date! Our wonderful Beaker (Caitlin) did a stunning caramel balayage on the birthday girl and a vibrant red balayage on her lovely mum, perfect for spring! 🌸

Good news; we are back! And so is Ida!
As of tomorrow (Wednesday 8th of September) we will be opening up again with our normal hours.
The following are the rules that have been set out for your safety, and that of our own, due to this new Level 2 Delta;
🌸 You MUST sign in upon entry to the salon, if you don't have the COVID-19 Tracer app we will keep note of your visit manually.
🌸 All clients and staff must wear a mask, these must stay on during the whole service whether it is a colour, cut or both.
🌸 Only one person from each household is allowed in to the salon at any given time.
🌸 Clients must only come into the salon at their correct appointment times. We have had to close the seating area in reception.
🌸 Sadly, we can not serve any drinks and snacks and there are no magazines to read. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own in with you.

We are still calling clients that have missed out on their previously booked appointments over the past three weeks, they are taking priority so don't worry; we haven't forgotten about you!

Kate, Beaker, Bree, Alysha, Mike, Evil Kelly and Sophie are all looking forward to seeing your glorious faces again!
