Arcadia Therapeutic Massage
Arcadia Therapeutic Massage was established in July of 2021. Enjoy a Raindrop Technique or a Hot Stone Massage. Both are an hour of sheer bliss.
At Arcadia I incorporate ten of Young Living's amazing oils to give a massage experience of a lifetime. Raindrop Technique is an exciting new modality to enter New Zealand. Its origins come from Ancient Tibetan, Ancient Egyptian and American Indian bodywork techniques, combined with the power of therapeutic grade essential oils and massage. Are you impressed yet? I certainly am!
Essential oils are being studied where the stakes are highest.
A new systematic review of 18 ICU studies involving 1,236 critically ill people found that aromatherapy consistently improved anxiety, sleep quality, and pain, with some studies also reporting reductions in heart rate and blood pressure. Not surprisingly, essential oil blends often outperformed single oils. Lavender was highlighted for its benefits for sleep, pain, and anxiety, German chamomile for blood pressure, heart rate, and anxiety reduction, rose for pain and reduced need for drugs, while eucalyptus showed the strongest effects on respiratory function in ventilated patients.
It's another reminder that essential oils aren't just about pleasant aromas—they're biologically active compounds capable of influencing human physiology, even in some of the most medically complex individuals.

This is going to be a fun night out!
Did you know that when you consume sugar you are immune compromised for seven hours? I normally follow the Keto lifestyle which typically sees me in good health, but I kinda lost the plot over my anniversary celebrations and I have yet to reign it in. I am so thankful to have resources to help support immunity when I'm being stupid.

I spent the day in Wellington with my Sunday School class. We had a blast! We started with WellyPutt Mini Golf then walked to Duck Island Ice Cream on Cuba Street before catching the train home. I love my kids!
I have had a few clients come in recently with very clear time restraints. They expected to "arrive at 2:00 and be out the door by 3:00." Not possible. Well, I did somehow make it happen, but it robbed them of the full experience. Please, allow a minimum of 80 minutes when you make a booking for the Raindrop Technique or a 60-minute Hot Stone Massage. If it is your first appointment at Arcadia you will need to allow longer still, especially if you are having the Raindrop Technique, as there are things we need to go over prior to and following the treatment.

I love the information this gentleman provides. If you are interested in essential oils I highly recommend that you follow him. What I truly appreciate is that all information is backed up by actual scientific studies.
The gut-brain axis is a connection between our digestive system (gut) and our brain. It allows them to talk to each other through nerves, chemicals, and hormones. This means that what we eat and how our gut feels can affect our mood, thoughts, and mental health. Similarly, our brain can influence how our gut works. This special link helps keep our body balanced and healthy.
A recent review concluded that EOs have great potential to positively influence the gut-brain axis and gut-brain-axis related disorders (IBS, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, and Parkinson’s disease). Highlighted were h**p, rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus, and oregano EOs, which demonstrated effects on neurotransmitter regulation, gut microbiota balance, and neuroinflammation.
