When we learned that Jenny would be returning to Sherwood, I found myself reflecting on the gift we were given there last year, a beautiful evening of music, connection, and joy that stayed with us long after the final song had ended.

I said to my husband, "Wouldn't it be lovely if we could pass that feeling on?"
So we purchased two additional tickets and invited people to nominate a senior who might appreciate an evening out. We asked for private nominations only; this was never intended to be a popularity contest, nor a campaign measured by likes or followers. It was simply an opportunity to honour a kind soul with an unexpected gesture of care.

What happened next was a gentle reminder of the goodness that exists all around us.
Two tickets soon became eight as friends, colleagues, and generous sponsors stepped forward to contribute. Gifts were gathered, ribbons were tied, and what began as a small idea blossomed into something far more meaningful than we had imagined.

Last night was extraordinary.
There was no grand stage beyond the one holding the musicians, no fanfare, no expectation of recognition. Yet there was an abundance of something far more valuable: warmth, gratitude, laughter, conversation, smiles that lingered, heartfelt embraces, and moments of genuine human connection.
Today, as I sit reading the beautiful notes and messages we have received, I am reminded that some of life's richest experiences are not measured by what we receive, but by what we are fortunate enough to give.

In a world that often moves far too quickly, we want to start creating a moment where people feel seen, valued, and remembered.
This evening will remain one of our most treasured memories.

We will be sharing a few photographs and videos in our stories; however, we will not be posting images of our lovely seniors. Many value their privacy, and it is important to us that their dignity and comfort remain at the heart of this experience.

To our friends, colleagues, sponsors, and every person who helped bring this little dream to life , thank you. Your generosity transformed a simple idea into an unforgettable evening.
And to the remarkable Jenny Mitchell and Midnight Chicken, thank you for filling Sherwood with music, warmth, and the kind of magic that inspires others to pay kindness forward.
