Also a wee reminder that from February next year I’ll be working Tuesday–Thursday, 10am–8pm.

Curls/Styling or Dry Cut

Once a year I get to swap the salon floor for the classroom and head into ARA to hang out with the Year 2 hairdressing students and this year I took Nascita along to teach with me 🖤

We spend the day diving into creative colour: what direct dye actually is, how it works differently to your standard tint, a bit of colour theory, plenty of swatching, and then getting into placement. Today we worked through two different prism placements and the girls created some really cool looks!

I’ve been doing this for the last few years before they head into their Grand Finale assessment, where they create a full creative colour, cut, outfit and avant garde concept. I genuinely love getting to be a tiny part of that process it’s something different for them, something different for me, and always such a fun little break from my usual week!

Dark vivids are a bit of a balancing act 👀

You still need to lift the hair first not cos we want it blonde, but because we need the right porosity for that vivid to actually grab. Too dark and it won’t have enough impact, too pale and you’ve removed all the depth you actually need.

For this one, the sweet spot was a clean true gold. I lifted past orange and red, then pre pigged with an acidic formula to rebalance the hair and deliberately fill it back in to the depth we wanted with with blue based violet only no red sneaking back in.

Then I added the reflect with Crazy Color and finished with a pH sealing treatment to lock everything back in!

I love me a squid/octopus/tentacle 🐙 and when I laid eyes on this guy I knew he was coming home with me. Check out this creators page she is crocheting her way out of debt and had the funnest creations. There was som lil rats I was pretty attached to aswell that need good homes 🤣🐁

Both of these are gifts for friends.. well they were meant to be lol but I'm gonna have a hard time parting with them 😂
I'm Def keeping the eyeball for myself! Both of these stalls had me browsing for aggeesss there was so many Halloween crochets I have fomo for everything I left behind hahaha 😆 and the plates were so good and each quote had multiple different plates with different patterns so I was actually spoiled for choice!

I know it's not winter for much longer but when the colour scheme matches your hair colour I mean it would be rude not to! This stall had some really cute hoods and tops, some cute lil bo***es and all sorts! Thank god there's creative people out there willing to make fun things so I don't have to try do it myself 😂

A familiar face back in my chair 🥹 and we decided to absolutely f**k with it.

Sometimes clients disappear for a while cos life happens or money doesn't happen. Maybe you try somewhere else or you grow your hair out, sometimes you simply cannot be f**ked 😂 Whatever the reason, there are genuinely no hard feelings.

But I DO love when you come back.
She gave me permission to overhaul!

We started with a Metal Detox treatment to pull out mineral build up and dullness and get some hydration back into the hair, and instead of covering her natural greys, we made them MORE grey! A cool, ashy, metallic grey to blend in and enhance what she already naturally has.

Then we chopped right into it and started f**king around with her natural texture… only to discover she’s been hiding the most glorious curl in there?!
