Low-maintenance blonde — how? ✨

One of the small things I often do during a half-head foil appointment is place a few foils underneath instead of using every foil through the top section.

Why?

Because brightness underneath helps support the overall blonde, also creates more movement and dimension, and prevents the top from becoming too heavily highlighted.

It also means the blonde grows out more softly, with less obvious regrowth and a result that often lasts longer between appointments.

For this client, the goal was a blonde that wasn’t too cool and not too warm either 🤔💭

To achieve that balance, I added a few soft color lights to gently blend the warmth and soften the contrast through the brighter blonde pieces.

Sometimes creating a beautiful blonde isn’t about adding more blonde — it’s about placing it in the right places and adjusting the tones to suit the look each client wants 🤍

Colour correction isn’t always about going darker or lighter — sometimes it’s about making the colour more wearable 💜

This client came in with heavy bleached sections, harsh regrowth, and an unknown colour history from previous work. (Not mine… phew! 😅)

When working with a complex canvas like this, the goal isn’t only today’s result.

The real planning starts with:
✨ understanding the hair condition
✨ choosing the right tone
✨ predicting how the colour will fade over time

In this case, I suggested softening the contrast rather than fighting it.

By working closer to the natural base colour and refining the bleached areas with carefully selected tones, we created a result that felt more balanced, softer, and easier to maintain.

The bleached sections still need special consideration because they will fade differently from the natural hair. That’s why colour correction is rarely a one-off appointment — it’s a journey and a plan.

Beautiful colour isn’t just about how it looks when you leave the salon.

It’s also about how it looks weeks later 🤍

Thinking beyond today’s colour is often the key to a successful correction.

For me personally, coming from a chemical straightening background, this was something I had been waiting for in the hair industry for over 20 years — a way to smooth the hair while still respecting its condition.🙌🎉
