Kia Ora Whanau 🥰

We would like to give a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our two first students that graduated under our name The Collective United Studios ☺️

As many of yous may have heard or seen Tutiyana has trained many under her wing doing both lash & cosmetic brows. Her first training started in August 2021 under the name (Mamas Time Out).

Over the years of her training she’s managed to upskill and improve on her courses to meet everyone’s needs.

Over the years of her training she’s made sure a “side hustle” is more then what comes of that saying but to make sure beauty is a passion and making others feel good about themselves, lifting each-other with encouragement, and making sure goals are met.

We seen all of that in these two beautiful students while training under us, the commitment to not only make a living but to make others walk away feeling beautiful and confident smashing out there goals.

We are so proud of yous and CONGRATULATIONS once again Te Pumanawa Paora Abriana Werahiko 💞

Thank you for trusting in us and we know yous will do amazing in the beauty industry welcome to this world girls 🫶😍

Morena a bit of korero on braids this morning 🥰

Did you know Cornrows were used to help enslaved folks escape slavery?

Enslaved people used cornrow’s to transfer information and create maps to the north.

Since enslaved people were not allowed to read or write they had to pass information through còrnrows.

It is believed to have originated in Colombia, South America where Benkos Bioho, in the late 1500’s came up with the idea to have women create maps & deliver messages through their cornrows. They were also called “canerows” to represent the sugarcane fields that slaves worked in.

One style had curved braids, tightly braided on their heads. The curved braids would represent the roads they would use to escape.

Also in their braids they kept gold and hid seeds which helped them survive after they escaped. They would use the seeds to plant crops once they were liberated.

Cornrows was the best way to not give back any suspicion to the owner. He would never figure out such a hairstyle would mean they would escape or the route they would take.

To start off our first day of the new month, I would like to thank everyone of those who has supported everyone here at The Collective United Studios, without yous we wouldn’t be who we are today, so gratefully appreciated 🫶

As we head into the new month our team here has worked very hard to prepare for what’s to come ahead of us, new month means new goals for us here at The Collective United Studios 💞

As yous may be wondering what we have in store, we have started to push our team to become there own individual boss.

We’ve taken the first step in becoming there own boss and that’s creating there own page.

You would have also seen our girls were raising funds to help towards there equipment last month.

Between 3 of our girls they managed to raise over 3k to help them pay for equipment and supplies.

We are so very proud of our team, and looking forward to seeing there progress in there new journey.

Although they are there own boss with own individual name they are still located here at The Collective United Studios at 1222 Eruera St

We cannot wait to have yous in here 💯

Kia Ora everyone a panui before our big day apōpō

To make our preparation easier we will need our visitors and clients to listen closely.

As expected we will be expecting a high number of visitors for our Grand Opening tomorrow and to keep our flow going and to ensure an easy flow we need those that have booked an appointment to arrive 10 mins earlier. We still go by our policy if you are late we cannot wait around for you as we have back to back appointments so this will be an automatic cancellation.

We won’t allow others to book in on this day as we are only open for 4 hours. Pre bookings are a must, so please do not take it offensively if we turn you down and cannot fit you in for the day.

We don’t allow our kaimahi to be under pressure, so there will be limited people in and out to check our mahi out and our beautiful space, because we will have our Kai stall inside we allow those to come in and order kai from us. Again there are only limited numbers allowed in our salon at a time for easier management.

Please no distracting our kaimahi when they are working, do say hi and what not but please keep the kōrero/talking for when they are free as they are still at mahi ☺️🙌 we welcome yous all and cannot wait to showcase what we are all about here at The Collective United Studios
