Busy days. Great hair

Hairdressers most valuable commodity is TIME. We can’t get it back. If a client cancels a 3 hour cut and colour today, we don’t just stay back for 3 hours on Friday night to make up that amount of booking time. It can’t get put back on the shelf like a pair of jeans you changed your mind about, and it can’t be returned to our distributor and replaced like a faulty product.

As a stylist, we choose to work 10 hour days, weekends and late nights so that we can accommodate clients needs.

All senior stylists work on a commission structure, so any unbooked time we are actually not getting paid. That is sometimes great - like when we want to get our own hair coloured, or do an errand outside of work, or start late so we can go to the gym.

But when that time “appears” last minute due to a client not showing up or cancelling last minute, we can’t use that time productively and that results in a pay cut that week.

Our busiest team members have cancellation lists, so should someone cancel a day or two before their booking it gives us the option to fit someone in who wanted that spot.

As referenced via email when you book online, and a text message three days before your booking, if you miss/cancel your booking the fee is $50 for cuts, $100 for colours. This is to cover the stylists hourly wage through their now unbooked time.
