Hi I’m Bev …

My memory of playing with my dolls when I was little and cutting all their hair into different styles to make them all individuals was the start of my life journey with hair …

I remember getting a babydoll for Xmas and had no idea what to do with it !!

“Where’s the hair ?”

After that mum and dad bought me a Girls World the manniquin styling head that looked like Marilyn Monroe !!!

Wow it was the most amazing feeling to see this head of luscious blonde hair and a roller kit and I was off !!!

I spent most of the day styling her and would often be seen taking her out under my arm whilst other little girls had baby’s and prams lol ..

Well it didn’t stop there .. I left school and went to work straight away in a salon as an apprentice ,I loved everything about being in a hair salon ,to me it was the most exciting place to be ..

I dreamt of being a famous hair stylist at Vidal Sassoon every hairdressers dream ..

By the time I was 23 I was a Top Stylist there and trained international Salon owners how to cut hair in the Academy ..

I left when I was 28 so had 8 years of amazing experience working alongside amazing world class stylists ..

Next stop travel .. I ran off to be a hairdresser on the QE2 Cruise ship along with 3 of the biggest Princess ships in the world .. I met amazing people and lived and worked in Austria 2 years , Greece 8 years and Cyprus 3 before coming to New Zealand 11 years ago ..

I’ve always loved wearing wigs the fact you can instantly change your whole look and image has always excited me …

I worked in a top salon when arriving in Wellington but knew my life’s calling was to help women with hairloss and combine all of my skills from my long career into my own business ..

The Wig Design Room was born 6 years ago and it’s just grown and grown , I’ve met some amazing women from all over New Zealand who fly in especially to get one of my wigs or toppers personalised to them by me ..
I help them with the wig subsidy claims and basically I now have a Salon full of Girls world mannequin heads to play with all day.

A new human hair topper for my lady today..

A new base type and colour today was just what my beautiful client needed to replace her old topper ..

We last met 3 years ago and tbh the old topper looked in great shape especially the hair quality …

We went for a mono topper this time in 5 x 6 base size in 16 inch with this lovely brown /soft highlight mix ..

Again a very happy lady .. love my work 🌸
