An open letter to New Zealand from Love Grace:

To New Zealand,

Over 4,000 bags have been donated in New Zealand...4,000.

We can't thank you enough for your response to our appeal, the amount of love you have shown for Grace is something that will be with us forever.

These bags full of cosmetics are so much more than just that. It's a bag full of love, it's a bag for women who need to be reminded of their worth, that people care and we're all here to help. It's a bag full of kindess, strength and hope. It's a bag from Grace.

We started our campaign for Love Grace with a target of 50, maybe 100 bags at a push. It's safe to say we didn't know what we was getting ourselves into at those early stages, we've found out so much information about domestic abuse and just how big it is.

It's bigger than us and Grace, this is about every woman who needs and deserves more for themselves, who needs the courage to get out of an abusive relationship, knowing that there are refuges on the other side, with their door open to help them start again.

For the family of Grace, this is also small way of coping with such a devastating loss, a young woman who was unjustly taken from her family and friends. Our aim is to try and stop this from happening to another family by raising awareness of domestic abuse.

We'd like to thank The Project NZ for shining a flood light on us for all of New Zealand to see, we'd like to thank New Zealand for the response that shouted 'We see you'.

To all the drop off locations who have given our campaign your time, for making us a talking point over your dinner tables and at work. To BNZ for making every bank a drop off point and to Women's Refuge New Zealand for everything.
For helping us as a charity and a family.
