One of the things I loved most about presenting at the CIDESCO World Congress in Fiji was hearing the same message echoed by colleagues from around the world.
Electrolysis still has an incredibly important place in modern clinics.

Not every hair is suitable for laser. Not every client has the same needs. And there is still huge value in a treatment that is precise, targeted and permanent. After working in electrolysis since 1987, it was pretty special to stand on an international stage and talk about why this treatment still matters — and to hear others saying the same thing.

The technology has evolved. Our knowledge has evolved. But the need for skilled electrologists is still very much there.

Electrolysis is back. ⚡

Nearly four decades in electrolysis… and I still love this treatment. ⚡

There’s always something more to learn — a different follicle, a different skin response, a better way to explain a technique, or a new piece of equipment that helps us work with more precision.

That’s one of the things I love most about teaching. I get to share what I’ve learned over the years, but I also keep learning along the way.

Electrolysis has changed, the technology has changed, but the skill behind it still matters just as much.

And I’m very happy to see it having its moment again.

I’m really looking forward to another few days of electrolysis training, sharing knowledge, refining technique and helping practitioners feel more confident with their treatments.

There’s so much more to electrolysis than simply choosing a setting — insertion, current, tissue response and precision all matter.

In electrolysis, precision matters. Being able to clearly see the follicle opening, the skin response and exactly where I’m working helps support accurate insertions and good technique — while also saving my neck and back!

What an incredible three days celebrating 80 years of CIDESCO and the global beauty and aesthetics industry.

It was an absolute honour for Michaella Messenger, founder and educator at Advanced Aesthetic Training, to present “Electrolysis is Back!” at the CIDESCO Congress in Fiji.

One of the strongest confirmations to come from the Congress was hearing the same message from industry colleagues in Ireland, Norway, the Cayman Islands and Fiji — electrolysis is experiencing a renewed place within modern clinical practice.

Technology has changed. Training has changed. Client needs have changed. But the ability of electrolysis to permanently treat individual hairs has remained just as relevant.

We are incredibly excited to continue educating, supporting and encouraging a new generation of practitioners to bring this valuable modality back into their clinics.

Electrolysis is back — although some of us would argue it never really left. ✨
