"Story Time”

My close friend and I created this idea of putting up an online business during Covid-19 pandemic around July of 2021. Both of us were still working on graveyard shift that we get to communicate via gmeet to ease boredom while at work alongwith sharing valid techniques and strategies on how we can make our work easier and faster ro accomplish our tasks.

Growing up, with fear to try riding a bicycle that later led on to my fear of driving a motorcycle. My friend is the opposite version of me. She was brave and tested by time and experiences. She doesn't fear anything except being away from her children and she loves them so dearly.

I said "Ano kaya besh magtayo tayo ng online business na accessible sa iba lalo na this pandemic na limited and mode of transportation and people cannot buy easily in person?"
And so as the orange app became famous.
"How about magresell tayo ng items with minimal mark up na budget friendly? Tutal besh marunong ka magdrive, ikaw sa delivery at logistics, ako sa marketing at packaging"

Then Beaute Hape Online Shop was born. We found a friend who is good at designing and asked him to layout our background design for free. Yes for free! That's how generous of him in helping us establish our mini online business.😇

Days passed, I did posting of garments from pambahay dresses to ternos, to perfumes bought from the orange app to crab paste which through the help of internet I found a friendly and accommodating supplier from Bulacan with manufacturing area in Pampanga (crab ponds). Orders kept on coming, may it be retail or wholesale. I remember, I became familiar with all the dropping areas here in our town because we have to transport each order to neighboring town/province. Some customers received their orders via meet-ups and some through J&T Express (beke nemen!🤭☺️).

We also tried selling chocolate cocoa tablea and kapeng barako which we ordered from a shop in Batangas, Cashew nuts from Palawan, genuine pearl earrings from Palawan and the very famous crab paste (aligue ng talangka) of Pampanga distributed by a company from Bulacan. In here we were able to apply and practice everything we have learned in college and the entrepreneurship skills we gain in every transactions. Also, my brother helped me in transporting crab paste bottles in Baguio City where he set up his own market. But competition was rampant by then and these products were also available in local public markets.

My friend and I parted ways at work. She decided to leave the BPO company to start anew and went back serving in the government sector through social services. She needed to consider because commodities were constantly increasing their prices plus the fact that her eldest will now go to college.

Communication still remained and nothing was changed, we both have each other by hearts💛. She then discovered a manufacturing business in Binalonan, Pangasinan where she took risk and decided to buy and sell the famous Binalonan longganisa. Out of curiosity and since our family love home-made products, we also tried to expand our humble business and negotiated with the manufacturer.

Since 2022, I learned to negotiate with the manufacturer who later on became a friend. During rainy season of June 2023, she even met me at the town proper of Binalonan and brought her car to deliver the orders. I felt so special at kinda privileged that this manufacturer took time and effort to meet me half way. I remember then, I travelled more than two (2) hours from our town going to Binalonan and carried my mini cooler all by myself with ten (10) kilos of freshly made products. For a woman like me, 10 kilos was already heavy as I am not a weightlifter or an athlete (just kiddin'!)😂🤭

Then I realized why not create my own product in which I will manufacture with available raw materials in the market and later on this product will become our "trade mark".

Looking back in 2019 - before pandemic, my immediate supervisor told me "Ano kaya Maan, magluto ka na lang ng mani since de-hagdan tayo para itong mga kateam natin hindi na kailangan bumaba at umakyat ng hagdan para bumili ng meryenda" because the 15-minute break will really give us pangs and those pamamanhid ng mga binti. We were situated at the 4th floor then.

And so I started cooking and doing fried peanuts in packs (5 pesos per small pack and 10 pesos for big packs). And this became famous within our campaign and other campaigns also started buying. Those moments really warmed my heart🥰. When we get to hear positive comments and feedbacks that they love the taste, the mixture and the quality of the peanuts. Someone also asked me "Ate, bakit ang mura? 'Pag sa bus ito walang pang kalahati tapos maliliit ang mga butil" (Please don't get us wrong, we don't have nothing against the bus and street vendors. Each one of us strives to survive and what is constant is the price increase of products in the market. They are also paid by their efforts going to each bus and shouting "Maannniiii!" on an ascendo tone🤭🥰.

Then pandemic strike in 2020, when we were sent home and moved to a work-from-home set up for the safety and security of everyone.

July 2022 - when I went back working on site, this time I was transferred to a different campaign. New experience, new strategies, policies and rules. I thought of reviving my peanuts business, this time with a twist! My former immediate supervisor again told me, "Magluto ka nga ulit ng mani! tapos lagyan mo din ng dilis tapos medyo maanghang!"

She was like my business mentor and motivator and I really thanked her a lot. Months passed, became years... our humble peanuts with dilis suddenly became known through the help of social media. Orders kept on coming and we were overwhelmed because our products already exported to different countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Bahrain and recently in Dubai. Locally, friends and relatives also brought them during travel in Cebu, Laguna, Laoag, Isabela, Baguio City, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur and Abra. From a friedship business, it turned ito a mini family business🥰. My parents peeled off garlic cloves while watching tv shows and my son also introduced our product at his primary school where he had a lot of customers. 💞 - he's better in marketing and advertising than me🤭😄

A dear friend also started creating the logo "Ajong's Spicy Peanuts" in early of 2023. The branding is in appreciation with my son's effort in his studies and that he is my life's inspiration.
Trivia: When I was pregnant with him in 2012, I love eating peanuts daily...yes daily as it was a part of my preggy diet and my source of fiber🥰"

To all who purchased and consistently purchasing our products, we are very grateful from the bottom of our hearts for trusting our humble shop and patronizing the works of our hands. And would you believe that a former friend of mine who purchased peanuts from me in June 2025 is now also cooking and selling her own version of peanuts with dilis? At first I was caugt off guard as she bought our products before, probably she was able to learn the secret ingredients I mixed😉 and it might not be a secret anymore 😂😅. But we are glad we have inspired her to also cook and sell her own version. Hopefully, she could also pay back those blessings and pay it forward to others 😇🥰🤗
