Bayabat National High School–La Suerte Extension, Amulung, Cagayan actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill for Active Attack Incidents, aimed at strengthening the preparedness, awareness, and safety of the entire school community. The activity was successfully conducted with the valuable support and assistance of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Municipal Disaster Risk Office (MDRRMO), and Barangay Officials, who helped facilitate the drill and reinforce proper emergency response procedures.

Bayabat NHS–La Suerte Extension Champion in the Municipal Tourism Quiz Bee 2026

AMULUNG, CAGAYAN —Celine Joy Mauricio of Bayabat National High School–La Suerte Extension was declared the champion in the Municipal Tourism Quiz Bee 2026, held on August 10, 2026, at the Sub-Office, Annafatan, Amulung, Cagayan.

Mauricio demonstrated commendable knowledge, confidence, and mastery of tourism-related concepts throughout the competition, earning her the distinction of Municipal Tourism Quiz Bee Champion. Her outstanding performance also qualified her to represent the municipality in the Provincial Tourism Quiz Bee.

Her achievement was made possible through the guidance and dedicated coaching of Lorienel Balacanao, SHS–Teacher II, who provided continuous support and preparation throughout the competition.

Phil-IRI Graded Passages (Pre-Test) Successfully Conducted
The school conducted the Phil-IRI Graded Passages (Pre-Test) across all advisory classes under the supervision of Reading Coordinators Kathryne R. Sibbaluca and Ma. Teresa B. Dannug, with the support of all teacher-advisers.
This activity aims to assess learners’ reading proficiency levels and serve as baseline data for appropriate reading interventions and literacy support programs.
Through the cooperation of coordinators and teacher-advisers, the assessment is being implemented smoothly and efficiently in all classes.

PHIL-IRI GROUP SCREENING TEST (GST) SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED
Bayabat National High School – La Suerte Extension successfully conducted Stage 1: Initial Screening through the Phil-IRI Group Screening Test (GST) for all learners from Grades 7 to 10 on June 10, 2026.

The activity was spearheaded by our Reading Coordinators, Ms. Kathryne R. Sibbaluca (English) and Ms. Maria Teresa B. Dannug (Filipino), with the assistance of the class advisers who administered the assessment in their respective advisory classes.
The Phil-IRI GST serves as the preliminary assessment to identify learners who will proceed to Stage 2: Administration of the Phil-IRI Graded Passages (Pretest). Both English and Filipino screening tests were administered to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of learners' reading abilities.

This initiative reflects the school's commitment to strengthening literacy and providing appropriate reading interventions to support every learner's academic success.

As part of the Division's monitoring activities for the opening of classes, Sir Rosauro Belen, Administrative Officer IV (AO IV), visited Bayabat National High School-La Suerte Extension on the first day of School Year 2026–2027. The visit aimed to assess the school's readiness, ensure the smooth implementation of opening-day procedures, and provide technical support to school personnel in delivering quality educational services.
