What would I tell my 2017 self right now?

I would tell her: “One day, all the puyat, doubts, and sacrifices will finally make sense. There will be seasons na mapapagod ka and you’ll question if kaya mo pa, but don’t give up on yourself too early. Yung maliit na makeup kit mo before will eventually bring you to places and opportunities you used to only pray for. Stay soft, stay humble, and keep trusting God even during the waiting seasons. And one day, you’ll realize that the dream version of yourself is already becoming you.”

What advice would I give aspiring makeup artists?

If you really love makeup, don’t wait hanggang maging ‘perfect’ ka before ka mag-start.
Your first clients, first makeup looks, and even your mistakes will teach you more than overthinking ever will. Invest in learning, practice as much as you can, and never compare your chapter 1 sa chapter 10 ng ibang artists.
Also, protect your passion because this industry can be beautiful but also very draining sometimes.
And pinaka importante, stay humble and teachable—because the best makeup artists are the ones who never stop growing. 💄✨

Bakit ako nag-invest sa training kahit 9 years na akong makeup artist?

Honestly, I believe na hindi porket matagal ka na sa industry, ibig sabihin tapos ka na matuto.
In makeup, trends, techniques, and standards evolve so fast, kaya ayoko ma-stuck sa kung anong alam ko years ago.
I wanted to challenge myself again and learn from artists na ibang level talaga yung artistry and experience.
This training is also my way of investing not just in my skills, but in the kind of service and experience I want to give my future clients.

After 9 years, mas narealize ko na being a great makeup artist means staying teachable no matter how far you’ve come. 💄
