Remulla: 'Tourists feel afraid in the Philippines'

No less than Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla admitted that tourists are not coming in large numbers to the country because of safety reasons.

"I truly believe that we have a beautiful country; we have the best people in hospitality all over the world. But why are foreign tourists not coming here? I have to admit it is our fault. It is the government’s fault. It is the Interior Secretary’s fault," the DILG Secretary said.

"People do not want to come to the country because they don’t feel safe. They are afraid. There is cynicism in all the bad news that goes on here, and in the political atmosphere, and killing seems an ordinary activity, people become afraid," Remulla added.

AUSTRALIA FOR DUTERTE'S INTERIM RELEASE?

Kinumpirma ni Vice Pres. Sara Duterte na kasama ang Australia sa listahan ng kinokonsiderang bansa kapag pinagbigyan ang interim release ni dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Nilinaw ng bise na ang pagpunta niya sa Australia ay personal trip at hindi para lumikom ng suporta sa gobyerno ng Australia.

Inamin naman ni VP Duterte na nagpadala siya ng mensahe kay Australia Foreign Minister Penny Wong para sa isang informal meeting pero hindi sila nagkita.

Pormal nang nag-file ng request ang Duterte camp para sa interim release ng dating pangulo. Isiniwalat nilang may isang bansang handa umanong tanggapin ang dating pangulo.

BWELTA NG PALASYO KAY VP SARA

Sinagot ng Palasyo ang pahayag ni Vice Pres. Sara Duterte hinggil sa P16 trilyon na utang ng Pilipinas na aniya, wala pang nakikitang proyekto rito.

Paliwanag ni Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro, kabuuang utang simula pa noong nakaraang administrasyon ang P16 trilyon.
