Nobody sees the 99 "no's" before the one "yes."

Nobody sees you fixing your voice in the car before walking into your client meeting... still shaking from the rejection you got an hour ago.

Nobody sees the lunch you skipped, the follow-up you sent at 11PM, the proposal you rewrote four times because you wanted it to be right for them.

They just see the close.

And if you don't close? They just see the failure.

Here's what most people don't understand about salespeople:
We're not just selling a product.
We're studying people.
Reading rooms.
Building trust with strangers in minutes.
Handling rejection as a daily routine... not an occasional setback.

We're part psychologist, part storyteller, part problem-solver, part human punching bag.

And we wake up the next morning and do it again.

Sales isn't glamorous.
It's the 6AM prep before the 9AM meeting.
It's the awkward silence after your pitch.
It's the ghosted email. The cancelled call. The "we went with someone else."

And still... you show up.

Not because it's easy.

But because you know something most people never learn:
Resilience isn't built in victories. It's built in the losing and choosing to stay anyway.

So if you know a salesperson.... respect them.

Not just when they win.

Especially when they're still standing after they didn't.

To every salesperson reading this: the no's aren't evidence that you're failing. They're proof that you're still in the game.
