Pelucas del Santos joins with the Catholic faithful in celebrating the solemnity of St. Joseph, the spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the foster-father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

St. Joseph is the patron saint of the Catholic Church, unborn children, fathers, immigrants, workers, Vietnam and the Philippines.

VIVA, OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE!

In December 1531, the Blessed Mother appeared before peasant Juan Diego in Mexico City, requesting that a shrine be built on the spot where she appeared.

In a series of apparitions, the Mother gave Diego a bundle of roses wrapped in a piece of cloth, which had her image imprinted on it.

Eventually, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe was erected on the very hill where she appeared before Diego. She is also revered to be the "Heavenly Patroness of the Philippines".

A national shrine also stands in Makati City in Our Lady's honor.

Today, Pelucas del Santos joins the Catholic faithful in celebrating the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Many Catholics think the Immaculate Conception refers to Jesus’s conception by the Virgin Mary. However, it actually honors the way in which the Virgin Mary’s herself was conceived.

The title of the Immaculate Conception recognizes Mary’s privilege of coming into the world free from sin. Through the power of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection, every human being can be freed from sin at Baptism. Through that same power, Mary was always free from sin, even from that very first moment of life.
