Kalinisan Validation Activity was successfully conducted in Barangay San Nicolas, Candon City, with the presence of the City DILG representative, Mr. Manuel Dumagpi. He was joined by representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and other city officials.
The activity was attended by the Barangay Officials led by Barangay Captain Mila Galicia, together with the Barangay Health Workers (BHW) and Barangay Tanod. Their active participation and assistance contributed greatly to the smooth and successful conduct of the validation.

2nd day of the R1AA Basketball Elementary Division is currently happening at the San Nicolas Barangay Basketball Court, featuring eight exciting games with participating teams from different provinces across Region 1, including Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan.
The competition is intense and full of energy, but due to the extreme heat, some players experienced injuries and even collapse during the games. Immediate assistance was provided by the Candon City Health Office staff, together with dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHW) and barangay tanods, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
Despite the challenges, the event continues to showcase sportsmanship, teamwork, and the strong spirit of young athletes representing their respective provinces across Region 1.

Emergency meeting led by Barangay Captain Mila Galicia together with the barangay officials, health workers, and barangay tanod. The discussion focused on the distribution of tasks and the allocation of prizes received during the fiesta, as well as preparations for the upcoming ZOD and Beautification activities.

The Moving-Up Ceremony for our Day Care pupils was successfully held at the St. Joseph Institute Gymnasium. The event celebrated the children’s achievements and marked an important milestone as they prepare to enter the next stage of their education.
Parents, teachers, and guests gathered to witness this memorable occasion filled with joy, pride, and inspiration for the young learners.

The Calamay Festival is one of the biggest highlights of the fiesta celebration in Candon City for 2026, showcasing the town’s famous delicacy, calamay. The event was held at the Candon South Central Oval and was attended by various national government departments and local officials.
The activity was led by Eric Singson, together with other distinguished guests, making the celebration more meaningful and vibrant. The festival highlights the rich culture, unity, and local products of the people of Candon.

Rabies Awareness Month was successfully held at the San Antonio Barangay Covered Court.
The activity was led by Assistant City Health Officer Dra. Rose Ann Asuncion, with insightful lectures from Dr. Ralph Mamaspas and Dra. Clara Layyag, City Veterinarian. The event was also graced by Dr. Osias Diasen from the City Health Committee.
Present during the activity were the barangay tanods, kagawads, and members of the Committee on Health and Sanitation, showing strong support for promoting public awareness on rabies prevention and responsible pet ownership.
Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this important activity. Together, let us continue to work for a rabies-free community!

The MELLPI Desk Document Validation and Review was successfully conducted in our barangay, headed by Sir Brando Castro, Nutrition Action Officer, together with Ma’am Jen Placido, City Program Officer, and Ma’am Daphne Baltero, City Nutrition Dietitian.
The validation focused on the review of documents and reports related to the implementation of barangay nutrition and health programs. Our Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Marcisa Jaramilla prepared and presented the folder validation and segregation report.
The activity was attended by PB Mila Galicia, members of the Barangay Council, and our dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs).
The validation was successfully completed with helpful suggestions and recommendations from our validators to further improve our barangay nutrition and health services.
