Week 3: A Meaningful Ending to Bayanihan sa Kalikasan

On April 19, 2025, the group returned to Purok Boongon for the third and final week of their clean-up drive. They once again cut grass, cleared the sides of the road, and promoted cleanliness in the community. This last activity marked the successful end of their Bayanihan sa Kalikasan campaign.

A heartfelt thank you to the community of Purok Boongon, the Barangay Officials, the SK, and to everyone who supported and helped make this initiative possible. Your cooperation and warm welcome truly made a difference.

As part of my ongoing advocacy, Last April 29,2025 I planted green chili in Mangyan, Sibonga, Cebu, with the goal of sharing the harvest with my neighborhood. This focus nurturing the plants and encouraging the community to enjoy the benefits of fresh, homegrown produce while promoting sustainable living.

Together, we are planting seeds for a healthier, greener, and more connected community!

Our EDUC 9 team — Aira Mae Pelares, Hanna Marie Cabahug, and Janine Caballes — moves forward with nurturing the newly planted Malunggay (Moringa) trees and engaging the community through environmental awareness talks.

This week focused on educating locals about the health benefits of Malunggay, encouraging them to actively participate in creating a sustainable and greener Barangay Sayao. 🌱

Together, we grow a healthier and greener future!

As BSED English 3 college students, we proudly look back to April 08, 2025 — the day our advocacy began at the Barangay Health Center in Guadalupe, Carcar City, Cebu. With a heart for service and a vision to make a difference, we extended our help to support the health center’s mission in serving the local community. That experience shaped our commitment not only as future educators but also as active citizens eager to uplift lives through volunteerism and compassion.

Fast forward to April 15, 2025, we returned with the same spirit and an even deeper sense of purpose. Our continuous involvement is a reflection of our dedication to contribute meaningfully to our barangay. This advocacy is more than a requirement—it’s our heartfelt way of giving back, showing that education goes beyond the classroom and that true learning is rooted in community service and empathy.

On April 12, 2025, the group returned to Purok Boongon for Week 2 of their clean-up drive. This time, they cut overgrown grass and cleaned the sides of the road, showing their continued commitment to a cleaner and safer environment. The spirit of bayanihan was alive once again as they worked together and inspired others to take part.
