An annual tradition in the province, the Ibabao Festival commemorates the birth of Northern Samar as an independent province by virtue of Republic Act No. 4221 which divided the Samar Island into Northern, Eastern, and (Western) Samar.

To honor the 61st year of Northern Samar, the Provincial Government, in partnership with LGUs, national government agencies, non-government organizations and private sector groups, invites the community to celebrate with us from May 22 to June 19, 2026, our Foundation Day.
