Call me a quitter, but I promised myself that I’ll stop running after people. I promised myself that I’ll never say things or explain myself more than twice. I’ll never offer my 100% to those who aren’t willing to give the same energy back. I’ll never stay in touch with people who like to reply but not send the first message. I promised myself that never in my life will I ever make people appreciate my presence and everything I do for them. That if they appreciate it, I’d be grateful. And if not, I’ll never make them. If they choose to throw rocks at me after I left a freshly-baked bread on their balcony, I won’t throw it back at them. I’ll just do myself a favor and leave.

Life’s too short to spend trying to convince people to treat you better. So I taught myself to walk away. To just be at ease with the thought that one day, when I’m all good and they finally see things better, they’ll realize that they wasted that one person who cared for them for real. And if they don’t, it’s okay. It doesn’t matter anymore.

May mga times na nai-insecure ako sa looks ko pero palagi kong nireremind ‘yung sarili ko na kung pinagpala pa ako sa looks edi ano na lang matitira sa iba ‘di ba? Alangan naman kunin ko lahat edi kawawa naman ‘yung iba? Kaya buti na lang talaga😌

Kidding aside, na-realize ko lang how important it is to keep in mind that there’s always a flaw in anything and anyone. Not just in physical aspects but in others too. Mayroon at mayroong mga bagay na wala ka at mayroon sila at syempre mayroon din namang mayroon ka na wala sila. Bottomline is, you can’t have everything; and that’s okay. Because at the end of the day it’s not about having everything; it’s about embracing what you have and making a life out of it.

I hope you take a little moment to just let go and feel your emotions. Feel why you are sad, or why you are in pain, because the moment you try to confront your emotions, the more you are able to accept it.

I hope your body can provide shelter, a safe haven for them to wander and be just themselves. I hope your body can cry it out because sometimes breaking down is a way to cleanse not just our eyes, but our soul.

Habang tumatagal ako sa labas ng payapang tahanan namin, mas napagtatanto kong isang mahabang pakikidigma ang lawak ng mundo.

Araw-araw kailangang lumaban. Araw-araw, kukumbinsihin ang sarili na mayroon akong kapupuntahan. Na may ginhawang nakalaan pagkatapos ng pagsisikap. At sa dulo ng lahat, may nakalaan sa’king tiyak at sapat.

Pero nakakapagod.

Nakakapagod ding ilaban ‘yung pangarap na ilang beses na ‘kong inilugmok sa hirap. Nakakapagod kumbinsihin ang sariling mahusay ka, pero ang totoo, marunong lang pala. Na kahit ramdam kong ibinigay ko na ang lahat, wala pa rin akong tagumpay na nalalasap.

Ang lawak nga ng mundo, mailap ang panalo. Hindi ko na alam kung dapat pa bang ipilit, o hayaan na lang na ganito ako—ordinaryo. Mas pipiliin ang kapayapaan kaysa pakikipagsapalaran. Makukuntento na lang sa kung anong ihain ng mundo.
