✨Crème Brûlé ✨Let’s start the new month with one of my favorites😍Here is my super easy to follow recipe 🤗INGREDIENTS* 1 cup (235 ml) heavy whipping cream* 2 large egg yolks* 1/4 cup (50 gr) granulated sugar, plus about 1 tablespoon to sprinkle on top* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or 1 vanilla bean, splitl leghtwise)INSTRUCTIONS1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180° C). In a medium saucepan heat the cream (and vanilla bean if using - if using vanilla extract add it later) Cook over medium heat until hot, almost boiling2. In a medium bowl, whisk well the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla extract.3. Add some of the hot cream (about 1/4 cup) to the egg mixture and whisk well until smooth.4. Pour the remaining cream and whisk.5. Use four 4oz ramekins, or 2 8oz ramekins. Place the ramekins into a baking dish. Divide the mixture into the ramekins.6. Pour boiling hot water in the baking dish, up to about halfway the sides of the ramekins. Careful not to pour water inside the ramekins :)7. Carefully place in the middle-upper part of the oven. And bake for 30 to 40 minutes until lightly golden on top and barely set. If using shallow/smaller ramekin the baking time is closer to 30 minutes. Longer time is needed for bigger/deeper creme brule8. Remove the ramekins from the hot water and let them cool completely. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours so the cream will set. Or overnight, if you prefer.9. Sprinkle the top with about one teaspoon (or less) of sugar, and using a torch, caramelize the sugar to form a crispy golden top.10. If you don't have a torch, preheat the oven to broil. Place the ramekins under the broiler until the sugar melts. It should take between 30 seconds to two minutes, based on your oven and how close is the pan to the flame.
