Have you ever replayed a conversation and wondered:
“Why did I say that?”
“What did they really mean?”
“What should I have done differently?”
If so, you’re not alone.
Rumination is repetitive thinking about painful experiences, mistakes, or unresolved situations. It may feel like problem-solving, but instead of helping us move forward, the mind keeps replaying the same emotional scene.
When you notice the replay beginning, try one of the science-informed microroutines from my book, The Journey to Self: Breathing meditation 🧘, emotion check in, body scan, visualization, and kind conversations with self.

Have you ever tried to relax, but your mind suddenly starts replaying everything?
The conversation from earlier.
The message you sent.
The decision you need to make.
The future you’re trying to figure out.
Sometimes we start scrolling to escape our thoughts—then realize an hour has passed and we feel even more overwhelmed.
If this happens to you, you’re not failing. Overthinking is often your mind’s attempt to protect you by searching for certainty, preventing mistakes, or preparing for every possible outcome.
But there is a difference between thoughtfully working through a problem and becoming trapped in a mental loop.
The next time you notice yourself spiraling, gently ask:
“Am I finding a solution—or repeating the same thoughts?”
In my book, The Journey to Self, I bring together science-backed psychological approaches and practices inspired by Eastern wisdom traditions. Simple microroutines—such as a mindful body scan, sensory grounding, conscious breathing, and correcting harsh or inaccurate self-talk—can help you reconnect with your body, return to the present, and respond to yourself with greater compassion.
These tools are not about forcing your thoughts to disappear. They are about creating enough space to choose how you respond.
You don’t have to solve everything today. Sometimes the most helpful next step is to pause, notice what is happening within you, and gently return to this moment.
Save this for the next time your mind has too many tabs open.

🧠 REGULATE BEFORE YOU REACT
Have you ever made a decision while stressed, angry, anxious, or emotionally overwhelmed—and regretted it later?
When emotions take over, we may:
💭 Struggle to think clearly
🛍️ Spend impulsively
❤️ React in ways that damage relationships
😴 Neglect sleep and physical health
🚪 Avoid important problems or responsibilities
Emotional regulation is more than a mental health skill. It can influence your physical health, financial well-being, relationships, and future decisions.
Join me on Instagram Live as we explore how to pause, regulate intense emotions, and respond more thoughtfully—without suppressing what we feel.

🧠 YOUR BRAIN ISN’T BROKEN—IT ADAPTED.
Have you ever asked yourself...
💭 “Why do I overthink everything?”
💭 “Why do I replay conversations over and over?”
💭 “Why do one person’s words affect me for days?”
What if the answer isn’t that you’re weak...
What if your brain has simply become really good at protecting you?
Our brains are incredible learning machines.
If criticism, rejection, uncertainty, or conflict happened repeatedly, your brain may have learned to stay on high alert—not because something is wrong with you, but because it was trying to keep you safe.
The good news?
🧠 The brain can learn.
And because it can learn...
✨ It can learn new ways of responding.
You don’t have to stay trapped in old survival patterns forever.
This Sunday, we’ll explore:
🌱 Why your brain adapted the way it did
🧠 The science of neuroplasticity
💛 How to replace shame with self-compassion
✨ The first step toward creating healthier emotional pathways

Because healing doesn’t begin with blaming yourself.
It begins with understanding yourself.
