Weather conditions continue to be monitored as new systems develop outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

TWO NEW LOW PRESSURE AREAS FORM OUTSIDE PAR AS HABAGAT CONTINUES TO BRING RAINS

One tropical storm and two low pressure areas (LPAs) are currently being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Tropical Storm Bavi, formerly Typhoon IndayPH, continues to weaken after making landfall in eastern China, while LPA 97W near Guam has the potential to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours. If it enters the PAR as a tropical cyclone, it will be named JosiePH. Meanwhile, LPA 98W over the Pacific Ocean remains unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone or enter the PAR at this time.

The southwest monsoon (Habagat), enhanced by Bavi, continues to bring rains over western Luzon and parts of the Visayas. Residents in affected areas are advised to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides.
