May 8, 2025 – Maguindanao del Norte — Datu Teng Mangudadatu is leading decisively in the latest Bangsamoro Citizens Poll, conducted from May 4 to 7, with results indicating a commanding performance across most municipalities in Maguindanao del Norte ahead of the upcoming elections.

The survey, which forms part of a broader effort to gauge public sentiment across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), focused on voter preferences in 12 municipalities. Datu Teng emerged victorious in 10 of these areas, with many showing overwhelming support—often exceeding 80% of total votes cast in his favor.

In contrast, rival candidate Tucao Mastura secured clear majorities in only two municipalities: Sultan Kudarat and Sultan Mastura, where he garnered 74.56% and 73.41% of the votes, respectively.

Upi proved to be the most competitive battleground in the survey. There, Mangudadatu received 58.87% of the votes, while Mastura obtained 34.42%. Notably, Upi also recorded the highest proportion of undecided or neutral voters, at 6.72%.

The findings suggest that Mangudadatu enjoys broad and robust support across the province, while Mastura’s appeal appears concentrated in a limited geographic area. Analysts say this could signal a strong mandate for Mangudadatu if current trends hold through election day.

The Bangsamoro Citizens Poll aims to provide timely insights into the political climate, governance expectations, and social issues affecting the BARMM, with the goal of strengthening democratic engagement and public accountability in the region.
