‘BOHOL ISLAND GEOPARK'

The Unesco has named 18 new global geoparks including Bohol Island, making it the Philippines’ first.

“The geopark abounds in karstic geosites such as caves, sinkholes and cone karst, including the famous cone-shaped Chocolate Hills in the centre of the geopark,” the agency states.

The global geopark designation recognizes “geological heritage of international significance.”
