Cherry Mae Segura’s unwavering support and steadfast love were the driving forces behind her daughter’s remarkable achievement at the Regional Schools Press Conference in Mati City, where Princess Kieth won 2nd place in Editorial Writing for Elementary Filipino.

As a mother, Cherry Mae witnessed firsthand the challenges her daughter faced and the determination she showed, making this victory not only a personal triumph for Princess but a shared family success.

Princess’s journey was marked by challenges, which Cherry Mae openly shared. Adjusting from column writing to editorial and balancing her school tasks and exams with her intensive training.

“She battled health issues during the contest but pushed through despite not feeling well,” she added, revealing the depth of her daughter’s struggles and her role in providing steady encouragement.

Teacher Laica B. Abosama, Princess’s coach, emphasized the critical role Cherry Mae played.

"Princess’s mom is incredibly supportive. Since Grade 4, Mrs. Segura would often cry during awarding ceremonies, but Princess kept placing. That shows the strong foundation of encouragement she has at home," she said.

Teacher Laica underscores the powerful impact of a supportive home environment on a young student's confidence and success.

“Seeing her tired but still giving her best fills me with joy,” Cherry Mai said. “ During the event, I brought her dinner and saw how exhausted she was. Even though she didn’t make it to the national level and cried about it, for me, her persistence and grit made her a winner already.”

This is a moving testament to a mother’s love and dedication. Her steadfast support through challenges and sacrifices empowered Princess to shine at the regional level for three consecutive years.

This journey reminds us that behind every young achiever is a parent whose belief and encouragement make all the difference.
