"My body was failing my baby"

I thought "my body was failing my baby." Turns out, I just needed someone to tell me I was enough. 🥹🤍

Pero our breastfeeding journey didn’t start easy.

Iggy was premature and wasn’t able to latch until he was 4 days old. For the first two months, sige ko ug question sa akong self. He was so small, murag newborn pa gyud tan-awon. I was tired, confused, angry, and disappointed sa akong self. Sige ra ko ug hilak kay I felt like it was my fault nga small baby siya ug murag kulang akong milk.

Breastfeeding was painful. Wala ko kabalo unsaon pag position niya properly, and permi ko worried if tama ba akong gibuhat. There was even a point nga grabe na kaayo akong kakapoy, murag nag hallucinate na ko. I remember kakita kog lain nga baby trying to take my milk away. 😭 perti nakong hadloka kay nabuang na g**o ko hahha, and super worried if kaya pa ba nako ipadayun ang breastfeeding. Mahal baya kaayo ang gatas beshyyy.

I am so grateful sa love and support sa akong husband during those difficult days. He saw how much I was struggling and even suggested nga mag formula na lang mi. Pero I was really determined, sige lang gihapon ko ug try bisag nagkasamad2 najud tawon hahahha

Tapos one time, I remembered my friend Kim Veloso once posted about breastfeeding, so I reached out to her. She recommended Mommy Tere, and that was when everything started to change.

Mommy Tere taught me different breastfeeding techniques and positions, gi tudluan ko unsaon pag store sa milk properly, and most importantly, gi remind ko nga I was enough. 🤍

Slowly, Iggy started gaining weight and becoming stronger every day. Looking back, I think part of what helped him thrive was that I also became stronger and more confident. When I learned to trust my body and trust the process, everything became better.

Now, Iggy is 2.7 years old, and I finally decided it was time to wean him.

It was bittersweet. Part of me was ready, but another part of me really found it hard to let go. Ana pa ko, kung lisud magbreastfeed, mas lisud mag undang!! Hahhaha After more than two years of breastfeeding, murag ang ending ako diay ang dapat lutason 🥴😂

It has been almost a month since he last breastfed. The transition wasn’t easy, we had to adjust and help him learn to sleep through the night without nursing, but eventually naka adjust ra siya. Hangyo nlng ug "touch lang mama". 😂 And we made it. 🤍

Today, I am simply grateful.

Grateful to God for giving me the strength, patience, support, and the beautiful opportunity to breastfeed my son for more than two years.

From a tiny premature baby who struggled to latch, to this strong, growing little boy ready for his next chapter, I couldn’t be more proud of us. A journey I will forever be grateful for. 🤍

Thank You, Lord, for allowing me to be his mom.
And thank You for always reminding me, especially on the days I doubted myself, that I was enough. 🥹🤍

Last night’s storytelling was truly special. Every opportunity I get to speak to children is a reminder of how faithful God is in helping us share big truths in ways little hearts can understand.

Most of the kids were still very young, and I honestly wondered if they fully grasped the story. But their responses amazed me. Their excitement, attention, and simple faith reminded me once again that God works in the most beautiful and unexpected ways. He truly is the greatest Storyteller and Teacher of all time. 🤍

Ans of course thank you so much to Jirah Faith Garcia Real for inviting me and giving me the opportunity to share with the kids. It was such a blessing to be part of such a meaningful evening. ✨

Claiming God's word over the world.

This world says,
“Earn my respect.”
“Respect me because of who I am.”

But the Bible teaches us differently.
Jesus commands us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” — Mark 12:31

We are called to honor—
“Honor your father and mother.” — Exodus 20:12

To value others—
“Show proper respect to everyone.” — 1 Peter 2:17

Even in difficult relationships—
“Submit yourselves to your masters with all respect.” — 1 Peter 2:18

And to cover those in authority with prayer—
“Pray for kings and all those in authority.” — 1 Timothy 2:1–2

Because at the end of the day—
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” — Luke 6:31

Respect isn’t always earned—it’s taught. And how you treat others says more about your character than their credentials.

In a world that demands respect, be someone who freely gives it! Because you are led not by pride, but by Christlike love. ✨

Thank you, Brylle Cuares! You are God's love and strength personified. I am grateful for everything that you are and for all that you do for us. 🤍

May they become a God-given grace in human form.
