Exuberance in Silence

Wrapped with the same determination, passion and skill held in a body tainted with incapabilities are what our paralympic athletes imbue.

Running through the track, racing through the field, bracing for the last sprint to win and then shouting that silent exultation as a winner amongst the crowd are special kids’ way of proving their worth.

Sprint executions were done differently but without a doubt these sprinters won the crowd's hearts, admiration and respect.

They may not hear the shouts from the crowd. They may be unaware as to the number of fans cheering for them. They may need someone else's presence to stand by their side. Sans ear, sans mouth, or sans eyes bearing varied challenges but behind those lie a wondrous soul.

Bringing glory to Digos City with a gold medal in Athletics Boys VI, John Lloyd Orlanes with coach Maritess Pia and Micah Ella Angel L. Orillo in Athletics Girls VI under coach Ginie Guy Sanico.

May the medals that they won bring the same honor to Digos City as that of the non-paralympic athletes in the national arena.
